Glitter Girl

The Royal Wedding today, is all the excuse I need for a little tea party.  A yummy selection of sandwiches, (crusts removed, of course!) scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam and a big pot of Earl Grey... (replaced with Vodka and ginger beer if I'm feeling stressed... lol**). Hope you all have fun, whatever you are up to.

Over at Totally Papercrafts we have the perfect challenge for you...

GLITTER

I LOVE glitter, and my new favourite thing is a little glue pen,
that allows you to easily add glitter to small areas.
I'm really looking forward to seeing your cards this week,
so throw that glitter around :-))

My daughter, Annabel is 21 in June and she asked for a card with glitter on... I searched high and low for an image that she would love and came across this one from the Penny Black J'aime Paris set. (I gotta thank my teamie Lols for this.... it was her fab card here that led me to this set - thanks hunny  xxx)

I glittered the dress and kepy everything else pretty simple. The stamp actually has a heart on the cake, but I replaced it with some number stickers, that I also glittered. I wish the photo did the card more justice, IRL it's really sparkly and pretty!!

Challenges
Moving Along With The Times  - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations - White Space

Lots of Love

Did everyone have a lovely Easter? We had a full house here and a brilliant time - AND we get to do it all again this weekend! I have a lovely 'English Tea' planned for Friday and a big family BBQ for hubby's birthday on Saturday  - Sunday can be spent nursing the hangover!!! :D)

It's my first time inking up these little mice - aren't they just adorable? I coloured them with Copics and added a little glitter to the flowers.
I found some embroidery thread the same colour as my background card, so I used it to stitch along the edge.

Hmmm... I have just noticed a little grey smudge. It's not on the card - I think it's on the inside of the camera lens, so hubby's first job tonight will be to take it apart and clean it!!   :-)

Challenges
Less is More - Off Centre.   I tried to balance the stamp being on the bottom left, by adding the sentiment to the top right. I hope it works!
Simon Says - Anything Goes and 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop
CES - Spring Colours/Images - I think the green and lemon are a pretty, spring combination.

Stamp - from the House Mouse Love, Sunflower set.
Sentiment - Wild Rose Studio, Everyday Greetings

Totally Papercrafts #63 Wedding

Just a quick post from me today, got lots to do for the Easter weekend -
menus to plan, chocolate to buy, cakes to make!! :D))

This week's challenge over at Totally Papercrafts, is hosted by the lovely Joey, and the theme is
WEDDINGS

Whimsy Stamps are this week's sponsors and I used the  'Sweet Wedding Cake' from Meljen's Designs  -  paper pieced with Pink Petticoat digi papers.
I punched a few blooms from the same papers and used pearls in the centre.

I kept it very simple and just added the ribbon and slider ( these sliders are available at Crafty Emma's Store).

Hope you all have a lovely Easter weekend

Swing from the chandeliers!

Time To Relax

How clean is your mobile phone?? I gotta tell you, mine is SPOTLESS! A 30 degree wash, with Persil Bio powder and a fabric softener will get out all those little marks!!!
I think I may have saved it just in time - it's drying out nicely, in the sunshine. :D)

I made this card for hubby's birthday - just loved the image of him and the dog, lazing in the sunshine. Should be a bottle of beer in his hand though!! lol**
It's coloured with Copics and I added a little glitter to some leaves - as if the sun is shining on them.

Challenges
CES - Sketch, designed by Sue.
Card Ideas - Let's Hear It For The Guys
Bling It On - Digi stamp + some Bling. (Hope there's enough on there!)
Karen's Doodles - Lots of Layers. (hope there's enough layers on this to qualify. I admit, I did cheat a little. I used a nestie for the circles, but I don't have the next die up, to layer it - so I went around the circle with a black Copic, to give the appearence of a layer of card underneath.)

Digi Stamp - Karen's Doodles, Time to Relax.
DP - Papermania, Birdsong.
The 'hinges' were made from a spellbinder tag die, cut in half.

All You Need Is Love

Ok, hands up who was walking around on Saturday saying,
"Acetate! Where am I gonna find some Acetate??"    Those LIM girls have come up with another fantastic challenge.
I rummaged around in the garage and came up with something that I am hoping will pass for acetate - it was the packaging, from a perfume box.

Sorry for the awful photos, but you can at least get the gist of my card and it does look better IRL - honest!!

The  front panel is made from the acetate, stamped in silver with Catslife Press hearts.

Challenges
Less Is More - Acetate
Aud Sentiments - Anything Goes

I did have a problem with my 'acetate' being slightly curved - I had to add a little strip inside the card to stop it splaying apart.
How rigid is cardmakers acetate?? Would it stand up OK, if I used it like this?

The sentiment was made on my comp. :-))
Huge thanks to all you LIMettes that are visiting. I am having fun trying all these new and different challenges, and it's great to read your comments and ideas on how I can improve. Can't wait to see all your 'acetate'  cards   xxx

Dear Lord...

Hello, fellow LIMettes - hope you are all enjoying this glorious sunshine.
Here's my entry for this week's LIM challenge.
I'm not sure it really qualifies, it is one layer, but it's NOT a card,
so let me know ladies and I will delete it if necessary - no worries.
I had fun making it and, hanging in my kitchen, it has already made people giggle.

I saw the quote on a T-shirt, so I made it up on my comp, picking a fancy font for the 'Dear Lord' bit and printed it out. At the last minute something came over me and I added the 2 black gems - sorry, couldn't stop myself!! :D)

I'll put this in my Freebies section if anyone wants it.  xxx

The perfect combination...

All this lovely sunshine put me in the mood for something fruity this weekend!!! :D)
Baking,  girls  - I am talking about baking!!
So I scoured the cupboards for ingredients, but found not a single orange or lemon. Not even the usual tub of cherries lurking behind the flour!!
What I did find, was walnuts - so Coffee & Walnut Traybake it was.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Hoppy Easter

Time to dig out those shorts and flip flops, girls and fire up the old BBQ - apparently we are having a mini heatwave this weekend.  I have the hot tub turned up and a nice bottle of Sauvignon in the fridge!!

Here's a card I made for Easter. I don't send Easter cards, but I have one of those plastic menu stands, that a card slides into and I keep it on my mantelpiece, with whichever card suits the season/occasion.

 Challenges -
Do You Stack Up? - Follow that yellow brick road.  These digi papers are all in a shade called 'sunshine' - hope that's yellow enough!
CES - Monochromatic
Digi Stamp Boutique - April Competition

Stamp - Digi Stamp Boutique, Spring Hoppy, coloured with Copics, with a little cotton ball, for the bunny's tail.
Digi Papers - Pink Petticoat, Pinstripes and Apples, in Sunshine

Totally Papercrafts - Sketch

Morning everyone... in this corner of Yorkshire I think Spring has finally arrived, and we have had a lovely couple of days. It almost made me want to do some gardening!!
The lovely Lols is our host at Totally Papercrafts this week and we have a sketch for you to follow - cleverly designed by our teamie, Sue.

We are sponsored by Melissa at Meljen's Designs, who generously sent the DT some fabulous images to use. I chose this cute garden bird house stamp.
I layered up the house and birds using foam pads, and coloured with Copics.

Digi Stamp -  Garden Bird House from Meljen's Designs.
DP - Papermania, Birdsong Sentiment - Papermania  Scrolls & Sentiments Stamps  Organza ribbon and buttons from my stash.

Paint The Town Red

The Less is More challenge had me digging around in my stash again this week :-)  I finally came up with this Sizzix dress die, that I bought years ago and only used a couple of times.

A girl has to have at least one sparkly, party dress, doesn't she?? So I covered this one with fine red glitter and added a black ribbon and pearl belt.
I used silver ink for the sentiment and added the line with a silver pen.

Happy Mother's Day

Morning everyone...hope you are all enjoying a lovely Mother's Day.
Here are a couple of treats from the yummy meal we had last night.
I made the Giant Cupcake and my DD, Annabel, made the Key Lime Pie.

Ha! Ha!
Can you see a little someone in the background, eyeing up the cake!!!
:D)

The Key Lime Pie was the star of the show.
Very easy to make and really light and zesty... delicious!

Pink & Blue with Green Spots and Orange Stripes

Hello everyone - have we got a great challenge for you at Totally Papercrafts this week - our host is the fabulous Vicky and the theme is...
Pink and Blue with Green Spots and Orange Stripes
Ha! Ha! Only kidding!!
Well, it is April Fool's Day! :D))

The real challenge is 'One for the Boys'
I always struggle with 'guy' cards, so I am hoping to get lots of ideas from your entries, and, if you need some inspiration, check out the amazing work of my teamies.

I HAD to get this Video Boy image from Mo's Digital Pencil. It's just so like my daughter's b/f, sitting there playing COD!
I'm always stuck when it comes to adding embellies for 'guys', so I ended up just using some chipboard stars.

Digi Stamp - Mo's Digital Pencil, Video Boy - coloured with Copics
DP - Papermania, Hampstead.
