Life is better with Gin

Do you fancy a giggle?
Head over to this week's Less Is More challenge, where the theme is 'Humour'.
Here's my entry...

This cute girl, is part of a Stamping Bella couple - you can just make out where their arms were linked - but shhhh - don't tell anyone   :-)

Sequins seem to be popular right now, and I found some lurking at the bottom of my sewing box.
This meant I had to go with red - not my favourite Copics to use, but I think I've discovered the trick.
When colouring, I left a narrow border all along the inside of my image. Then, when I had finished blending, I just went back and carefully filled in the border.
And it worked - no bleeding outside the image :-)

Just my type!

I am not an 'inky' person.
I am a straight down the line,  Memento Tuxedo Black, person.
So it was a suprise to me, when I found myself reaching for an old, pink ink pad. Pink!!!
I never stamp in colour!!

It's not easy, is it? But, I think I like it :-)

I also discovered a neat little trick with clear, dew drops
If you use a Copic to dot colour on your card, then stick the dew drop on top,
using a tiny glue dot, the colour shows through beautifully.

(Ignore the black line under the ribbon and the dark grey line along the bottom of my card panel,
they're just shadows that my camera has picked up)

Wake up and smell the flowers

It's pouring down.
The lawn is littered with leaves and branches and
the thermometer, on the back door, is reading 4C.
Are we really half-way through May ?
I hope you're keeping warm :-)

It's no secret that I am 'florally challenged',
so I was excited to discover a new product from LOTV - Wild Flowers Art Pads

I flicked through the pad a hundred times, wondering what to do and finally found inspiration,
after a visit to Katina's blog.
I love how she used the art pad to make simple, but totally gorgeous cards.

All I added to the images was a liberal sprinkling of glamour dust, which is so difficult to photograph,
but you can just make it out below. IRL it's very sparkly!

Turn around and touch your toes

Hope you're all enjoying the long weekend.
It's nice here - not sunny - but pleasant enough to sit outside,
with a good book and a glass of wine :-)

Here's the birthday card I made for my SIL.
She has a brilliant sense of humour and always finds funny cards for us - so I needed to get her back ;-)

I found a piece of this gorgeous, bright ribbon a few days ago and knew that I wanted to use it. I didn't have enough to wrap around the card and do the usual bow - so I opted for these little tags instead.
A cute way to use up any little scraps of ribbon you have.

I used digi papers from Pink Petticoat, teaming the orange up with my favourite smoke grey.

I never usually decorate the inside of my cards - can you tell???
These pennants aren't good - but it's all I could come up with.
It's definitely something I need to practice.

Dogs Of Anarchy

Mr Kiss is celebrating his birthday this week.
The girls are coming up on Friday - and, if we are allowed back in,
we will be visiting the local hostelry to partake of some refreshment - eg: shots all round!

Here's the birthday card I made him - no prizes for guessing his favourite TV show.

I made the text on my computer, using the font Carnevelee Freakshow
I'm not sure if it's exactly the same as the one used in the TV series,
but it looks good to me.

I made a little scene with my new cityscape die, cut out 'Snoopy and his Sidekick' and stuck them to the 'road' with foam pads.
Snoopy is coloured with Copics and I added a few touches of glossy accents to him and the bike.
