BOY (n) A noise with dirt on it.

Right now I'm working my way through Justified on Netflix,
so I had cowboys on my mind when I was making this boy's card  :-)

I used a rectangle nestie to cut a couple of 'windows' in my card panel - and foam pads to attach it over some blue card.
The cowboy is coloured with Copics, fussy cut and attached with foam pads.
(I really need to buy shares in a foam pad company!!)
Originally my cowboy is holding a lasso, but I cut that bit off and gave him a balloon instead.
Lastly, I added the die cut letters for my sentiment.

Let's Build A Snowman

Hey everyone, hope you're enjoying the long weekend.

Here's one of those cards that refused to photograph well.
I must have taken 50 snaps of it, in 3 different rooms of the house- and it's still not good.
IRL the green is more this colour and the snowman is very sparkly!!

I started my card by following the sketch over at LIM, but ended up making a few changes along the way.
First of all, I stamped my background onto a rectangular card panel.
My snowman was stamped in white and then embossed with glitter, before being die-cut and attached with foam pads.
The rectangle didn't quite look right, so before I attached my snowman, I used a large oval die to round off one edge.
This meant that the sentiment wouldn't work on the left, so I stamped it in the centre of my base card.

Colour My Life

I need more colour in my life.
After living in this house for almost 2 years, it's time to attack the 'antique cream' walls.
I have some jazzy wall-paper in mind for the porch, that is making Mr Kiss hyperventilate!!
Watch this space...

Thinking of colour has filtered through to my craft room and my latest card...
(sorry about the poor photos, they were taken in a rush, at the kitchen table on my iphone)

The inspiration photo at Fusion card is a gorgeous bouquet of summer flowers (see below).
Now, as you know, I am not great when it comes to flowers so,
I tried to replicate the colours from the bouquet, in my own way.

I started by die cutting lots of speech bubbles, and arranging them onto my card panel.
Any pieces that hung over the edge were trimmed off.
The speech bubbles were attached with foam tape after a few of them were stamped with sentiments, and a couple had sequins added.

The stockings were hung

When I was struggling with crafting a couple of months ago,
a few people suggested that making Christmas cards might help.
Well, they were right. Thank you   :-)
Even though my cards are much more CAS, I really feel as though I'm getting somewhere now.

Here's my latest card for the pile.

I'll definitely make this design again, it's quick to do and great for using up those snippets of Christmas paper.
I used a little, Christmas stocking die and cut the shape 3 times.
The dp was lined up with the die cuts and stuck onto the card base.
Then, I attach my die-cut card with foam pads - I really like the depth and shadow that this gives you.

All that's left, is to add a simple sentiment strip and a little gem heart.

Snow is falling

I have been on a spending spree...   the damage is £75 million  ;-)
It's the start of the footie season - you all knew that right? - and my Fantasy Team is raring to go.

So, here's a quick post with my latest Christmas card.

As you can see, I am still obsessed with snowflakes and negative die cuts!
My inspiration came from the 'Case it' card over at  Time Out.
I tried to include the triple layer sentiment, but it just didn't work against those snowflakes.
It all looked too busy. Instead, I opted for a plain strip of card to add my sentiment to.

1,2,3,4, tell me that you love me more

Wow!  I just love this week's MUSE card, by Therese Calvird.
I knew I couldn't replicate her stunning blooms ( flowers and inking are not my strong suit )
so instead, I opted for die cut numbers.

I tried to follow the basic layout of Therese's card, and cut my numbers in similar colours to her flowers.
The sentiment is inked in white and heat embossed.

Snow is fallling...

Hey there.
Today I'm sharing a sequin card with you. It might look simple, but it nearly ended up in the bin several times.
Sequins are contrary things. When you want them to stick, they slip around all over the place,
and when you want to remove them, they cling on for dear life!!

I started by die cutting my snowflakes and then stuck sequins to my base card, where they would show through.
I did this for all 3 snowflakes, but it just looked too OTT.
Luckily I didn't stick down my die cut card, I just held it over the top.
I removed the sequins from under the edge cut snowflake and that left a mess of torn card showing through, so I die cut another snowflake and popped it into the space and voila...  my first Christmas card of the year,
and it turned out pretty good in the end.
