Miss You 2

I was disappointed this morning.
Where was the 4ft of snow that I was promised?
There's not a 'thundersnow' storm in sight   -
all we have is a slight dusting of the white stuff  -  *sigh*
Maybe tomorrow...

Here's another penguin 'miss you' card for my daughter.

I played along with this week's MUSE challenge.

I know it looks like I've cut my heart die in the wrong place ( not central )
but honestly, that was deliberate. I wanted to give myself a little extra room on the left,
for those cute penguins.

Inspiration from the super, cute MUSE card by Julie Beech.

Supplies.
DP - Lawn Fawn, Let's Polka
Mama Elephant, Arctic Penguins, coloured with Copics.
Nestie Heart Die
Bow from Clearly Besotted Make A Wish
Sentiment - Stampendous, Happy Messages.

Miss You, Love You

Hey there, I have a super, quick card to show you today,
using my new penguin stamps.

This was going to be a Valentine's card, but then I thought the 'miss you' sentiment
was just perfect for a card for one of my daughters.

I played along with this week's CAS(E) this Sketch,
and Pixie's Playground.
This is a great sketch for using up those little snippets of papers and card.

Supplies.
Mama Elephant, Arctic Penguins Stamps and Dies.
Sentiment - Stampendous, Happy Messages
Lawn Fawn, Stitched Border Dies

Penguins - they're not just for Christmas

Hey everyone,  hope you're all well.

Liar, liar pants on fire!!
That's what popped into my head, when I stood back and looked at my card.
My poor, little penguin looks like his bum's on fire    *snort*

I couldn't resist this set of Arctic Penguins, but as I got them a little late for Christmas cards,
I'm going to try and use them for other occasions.
I think this cutie is great for a winter birthday,  and I have plans to use them for Valentine's cards.
Watch this space  :-)

Today I'm playing along at Less Is More, where there's a Sketch to follow.

Supplies.
DP - Lawn Fawn, Let's Polka.
Mama Elephant - Arctic Penguins, Stamps and Dies.
Balloon is from Clearly Besotted, Make a Wish  and is stamped in Versa Colour, Narcissus.
Balloon String is from Lawn Fawn, Beep Boop Birthday.

Look Whoo's Arrived

So, I was sat at my desk, trying to think of something to use for the
Make The Day Special 'recycling' challenge,
when some sequins caught my eye.

I used the little press-top bag, that the sequins came in, as a shaker element on my card.

I filled my bag with some of the 'Spring Time' mix sequins and some stars -
then folded the top over and hid the seal by stapling a piece of card on top.
Then I attached my 'shaker' to my card with glue dots.

Did I over-do the owls?  It is my favourite, little stamp right now, but in my defense
the little beige one at the bottom is there to cover up a black ink smudge from
when I stamped the sentiment!!!

Both the sequin mix and the owl stamp  (Mama Elephant Just Hatched)

Oh  shoot!  It doesn't look like either of those things are in stock right now,
but pop on over to the store anyway and see what they do have.
Lots of delicious stamps and goodies that are hard to track down here in the UK.

Roses are blue

Hey everyone, hope you're having a good weekend.
Football is on today, so I managed to sneak up into my craftroom
and make a card for the Fusion Challenge.

I took my inspiration from the photo, using overlapping hearts and a flower.

I guess this is what you might call a  'fake' shaker card.
The sequins are stuck down, inside the heart cut out, and there's no acetate layer.
It kinda gives the appearence of a shaker card, with non of the fuss...   lol**

I'm not sure I'm terribly happy with the sentiment like that.
I really wanted to add a small banner, but my memento ink didn't want to play ball.
It just came out all patchy and blotchy.
So I ended up using a printed sentiment layered up on card.

Supplies.
DP - GCD Studios, Ella Blue
Flower - Clearly Besotted Stamps & Dies, Sweet Rose
Nestie Heart Dies
Ink - VersaColor Turquoise, Memento Toffee Crunch
Sentiment - Pink Petticoat Digi
Sequins.

Homeward Bound

Here's a card that will be waiting on my daughter Maria's mat, when she gets home next week.
She's been on holiday in Australia, having an amzing time,
and I can't wait to catch up with her.

I took my inspiration from this week's elegant MUSE card, by Michele Ferguson.
The layout is similar, with a central heart shape and sentiment below,
but I made mine a shaker.

Beep Boop Birthday

Hey everyone,
today I'm sharing a cute, robot card with you.

The little robots and elements are die cut, coloured with Copics, and popped up on foam pads.
Some of these pieces, like the bow tie, and the wind up key, are really tiny, but because the dies
are the outline style, they are easy to place and cut.

As you can see, I'm sticking to my promise of adding a bit more colour to my work -
with some coloured card and a snippet of dp.

Challenges.
Cardz 4 Guyz - Happy Birthday
Papertake - It's All New  (I used my new robot stamps and dies)
Pixie's Playground - Snippets   Hello Di xxx Now that I've decided to move away from completely CAS cards,
and add a little more colour, I'm hoping to join you in the playground more,
and make a dent in my box of scrap papers and card :-)

Supplies.
Stamps & Dies - Lawn Fawn Beep Boop Birthday, coloured with Copics.
Lawn Fawn, Stitched Border Die
Inks - Memento Danube Blue / Dandelion
DP - Dovecraft Masculine

Sweet Rose

Have you been looking back, over your last year's makes? I have.
And I can see now, that in my attempt to hone a more CAS style,
I have rather neglected my designer papers and card and, probably,
inclined towards too much white space.
Time for a different approach, I think.

So, this year my focus word is COLOUR

This is my entry for CAS(E) this sketch.
I have tried to keep everything on the CAS side, but also inject some colour.

The picture above looks a bit flat, but you can probably see better below,
that my white panel and bottle are popped up on foam pads,
which I doubled up for the rose and stem.

I also discovered a little jar of  dew drops - remember them?
They're the frumpy step-sister to the more witty and sparkling 'sequin',
but they can still bring some shine to the party!    ;-)

Supplies.
Stamps & Dies - Clearly Besotted, Sweet Rose
Inks - Papermania Green / Memento Bamboo Leaves / VersaColor Boysenberry
Sentiment Stamp - Lawn Fawn, Year Two
Nestie Pennant Die.   Dew Drops/Sequins

Wee little one

Shhhhh...   please talk quietly today.
We've just had a big party for my daughter's engagement,
and I'm still feeling the after effects!!
Self inflicted, I know :-)

So my brain is a little slow (nothing new there then)
and these photos aren't great.
But, I wanted to share this cute little tag for my new Great Nephew.

I stamped some random stars on a tag and then added
the sentiment and die cuts from my new Mama Elephant set.
For a touch of added colour, I layered the tag onto another cut from blue card.
 Simple, but sweet  xxx

Challenges.
Papertake - Anything Goes (optional thank you card or gift)
Simon Says - Something New
Allsorts - New and Cute

Supplies.
Stars - Winnie & Walter Big Bang Confetti
Mama Elephant, Just Hatched Stamps and Dies.
Memento Ink New Sprout. Versacolor Sky Blue.

Step Away From The Glitter

Happy New Year, everyone.
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday time.

Here's my first, blogged card of the year -
as you can see, I am having trouble stepping away from the glitter!!

For a little help with my mojo, I turned to one of my favourite challenges
This week their theme is Black, Metallic + 1 Other Colour

I added plenty of bling to my card, but still tried to keep it CAS.
The chandelier is silver embossed, the glitter paper is ultra sparkly,
and for good measure, I threw in some sequins and gems.

Supplies.
Clearly Besotted Stamps - Shine Bright, Make A Wish, Home Sweet Home
Glitter Paper - American Crafts.  Silver Ink with Clear Embossing Powder.
Sequins and Gems.
