Band on the Run

Hello.
Here's another card with my new, cute, MFT stamps.
Don't you just love a bunny in uniform ;-)

I'm playing along with the  MFT  Challenge for the first time -
I've just turned the sketch on it's side.

I cut the circles from my DP and then inlaid white ones,
then added my bunnies with foam pads to give the
card some dimension.

I'm A Dragon

Saints, Dragons or Heroes is this week's theme at

Here's my entry.

The eagle eyed amongst you, will have noticed that this is
a dinosaur and not a dragon.
Cue tenuous link....   ;-)

Some mythical creatures may actually have a basis in real life.
Ancient descriptions of dragons sound similar to dinosaurs,
and paleontologists believe there is a link between the dragons
that ancient people believe in, and their discovery of dinosaur fossils.

Did I pass?  :-)

Strike Up The Band

This ridiculously cute band set was a slow burner for me.
I saw a few cards with them, but they didn't really grab me.
Now I have got my hands on them, I realise just how
fabulous and versatile they are going to be.
Does that ever happen with you?

They were perfect for this card, to wish my niece, and her family 'cheerio'
as they head off to the USA for 3 years.
Orange County watch out!  :-)

Raindrops on Roses...

... and whiskers on kittens.
Are you singing along?

Today I'm sharing my card with you, as Guest Designer for
Huge thanks to the DT girls over there, for the opportunity.

Can you tell from my card what the theme is?

I have taken a subtle approach to the theme -
due to the fact I don't have any rainy day type stamps -
and used clear, dew drops as my 'rain'.

I'm also chuffed that I stretched out my inks on this card,
and used only 2 purples and 2 greens.
I'm not sure what the technique is called, but if you ink up your rose
and then stamp it, ink it again and stamp onto scrap paper,
then stamp your rose layer, you get 2 shades from your ink.
Does that make sense to you?  :-)

I hope you'll play along with the challenge this week.

Feeling Blue

Hello.
Today I'm playing along with the Seven Hills Challenge,
which gives you the option of 3 different colour palettes.

No being great at 'floral' cards these roses are a revelation to me.
I still haven't got them exactly right, but I'm having so much fun with them.

I came across a couple of great tips for using them.

1. Don't worry if - like me - you have a limited ink stash.
You can use 1 ink pad to create at least 2 shades.
Ink up your rose piece and stamp.
Then ink up again, stamp on scrap and then on your rose.
Voila - 2 shades!
( You all knew this already didn't you? :-)  )

2. The roses and leaves can be tricky to line up,
but if you start with the darkest colour first it makes it a little easier.

I've used the colour palette below for my card.
Matching up as best I can with the inks I have.
Blue for the roses, green for the leaves and the bottom grey/vanilla colour
as little sprinkled dots.

Altenew Vintage Roses.   Winnie&Walter Big, Bang Confetti
Inks - Memento -  Danube Blue / Bahama Blue  /Summer Sky.
Versacolor - Celadon / Vanilla.  A green from Hero Arts Lia Colour Lights.

Quick, Quick, Quick

Hello.
Just popping by today
with a super, quick card.

I still have some Lili Of The Valley Art Pads left -
(I'm not sure they make them anymore)
but they are perfect for this type of quick card.

I simply die-cut 'thanks' across my image, and then
replaced it with a white die-cut, that would show up better.
The quickest card I have ever made :-)

Wishful Thinking

Happy little penguins,
doing a birthday dance.

My new favourite product, is a metallic effect card from XCut
In the pack you get silver, copper and gold sheets.
They are adhesive, but for die-cut sentiments like this,
I wanted extra sticking power, so I backed it with some Stick It,
and that does the trick.
