Little Foxes

Hey everyone...
just a quick post from me today.
My girls' and their b/f's ( and pets!) are descending on us for the weekend
and I am baking.
The floor, the worktop, me and the dog, are all covered in a fine layer of icing sugar :-)

Here's a birthday card for my pile.

If you're looking for some pretty, new goodies, but don't want to spend a fortune, head on over to Pink Petticoat. Everything in the boutique is £1 (not sure how long the offer will last, so be quick!).  I got my hands on these lovely, heart papers and the little sentiments - what a bargain!
I searched through my stamps for something cute, and came across these little foxes. They are in with a Gorjuss girl stamp of the same name, and I'd never even thought to use them on their own before.
You can see below that I've added some dimension to my card by popping up some of the elements.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.   xxx

I found my family in a book

1, 2, 3, and I'm back in the room...
Despite my mojo struggling to get out, I have finally made a simple card.
To make it easy for myself, I stuck with my favourite paper and colours
(hmmm... will grey and orange work for Christmas cards?)  ;-)

This is for my friend, Debs.
She reads anything and everything, so I thought this little Gorjuss girl,
"I found my family in a book"  would be perfect.
I used  grey ink for my sentiment, to make it look more washed out and the little heart embellie is
actually a house die from Clearly Besotted.
I just coloured the heart orange and popped it back in the die cut.

Sentimental Sundays - Happy Birthday

Papertake - Anything Goes (with Optional Christmas Theme)
ABC - U for Unlimited (Anything Goes)

Paper People

Blink!
And it's Monday again - what happened to the weekend?

After all the CAS Christmas cards I made, I am still struggling to use my DPs.
I know it sounds bonkers, but they just don't look right to me anymore??!!
I had to fight the urge to take this one off.

The sketch is from Seize the Birthday. This is a great new challenge blog with a fun twist - the sketch is used one week for girly cards and one week for masculine. As you can see, this week it's girly ;-)

Button it!

Hiya peeps, this is a scheduled post from me today, as I will be on my way to work. I let my daughter loose with my hair yesterday and have gone from being dark blonde to deep red!! So I hope they let me in the doors :-)

It's time for another Totally Papercrafts challenge and our fab host this week, Anne, has chosen the theme

All Buttoned Up

I made this card for my youngest daughter, Annabel, who has just got a new job in marketing. It's what she did her degree in, so she is thrilled to bits.

Of course, I couldn't find just the right colour buttons to match my papers, so I ended up cutting these off one of hubby's shirts!!! (joking!! but it did cross my mind) ;-)

Grab a cuppa and head over to the challenge blog, where you can check out the fabulous work of my teamies and take a look at this week's great prize from the Ribbon Girl.

Paper Chain People

EEK! Friday came around quickly didn't it?
This is a scheduled post from me, as I will be on my way to my first day in my new job!!

We have another great challenge for you at Totally Papercrafts.  The lovely Linda is our host and she is a ribbon hoarder :-)  so she has chosen the theme...

Ribbons and/or Bows

I love ribbon - and I always think that it makes a card a little bit special. A simple strip with a bow can be the perfect embellie, but if you feel like doing something more creative we'd love to see that too. Have fun!

I kept my layout pretty simple, as I wanted to concentrate on colouring this gorjuss girl. She is called ' I found my family in a book' - isn't that the cutest name?

Supplies.
DP - Prima, Madeline
Stamp - Gorjuss 'I found my family in a book', coloured with Copics.
Spellbinders Nesties -  lacey circles and  pennants.
Whimsy Sentiments Stamp.
Gems coloured with Copic to match her dress. Ribbon from my stash.

Forever Autumn

Well the weather, here in Yorkshire, has definitely changed over the last week or so - wet, windy and cold.
So our FOREVER AUTUMN challenge at CES is an appropriate theme for me.
Karen is our lovely host this week, and we would like to see your autumn inspired images or colours.

I combined a couple of images for this card, a Gorjuss Girl and the Open Window, both coloured with Copics.
The DP is one of my favs - My Mind's Eye, Mabel.

To the window box I added a couple of punched leaves and various blooms, with pearl and gem centres.

Don't forget to head over to the blog to see the amazing work of my teamies - their work always blows me away. And, if you enter the challenge you could find yourself with a £10 voucher to fill your CES basket with goodies.

What a great excuse for me ink up my brand new stamp -

I think it's 'cos I really want to do it justice!

Orange - It's not just for Halloween!!

I love this week's 'orange' challenge over at The Pink Elephant. It's a colour I don't often use but it can look really stunning... just check out the DT work over there, to see what I mean.
I took ages colouring this image, it's so gorjuss that I wanted it to be perfect, plus I knew that my new close up lens would show every error.
It's the first time I have tried to colour black hair too, so even though it's not perfect I am very happy with it.

I made this into a 'thinking of you card' because to me, the image has a slight melancholy feel to her. Does anyone else get that?

Recipe
  • Stamp - Sugar Nellie, Gorjuss 'Sent with Love' coloured with Copics
  • Text Stamp - Personal Impressions
  • DP - My Mind's Eye, Pretty Please
  • My Stash - Buttons, Orange Embroidery Thread, Eyelets

Dear Santa...

Would anyone like to swap?
My job today is to clean the oven -
inside and out.
I will do ANYTHING else.
Hmmm... OK, I won't look after small children,
I draw the line at that!
Ha! Ha!

Yesterday I headed over to
play with the big girls at
The Sugar Bowl.
It's my first time trying their challenge,
but it was such a fab sketch,
I had to give it a go.
They have such a generous prize of
Sugar Nellie stamps, for this week's winner.
Nip over there and check out the DT work -
it's awesome.

Recipe:
Stamp - Sugar Nellie, Gorjuss Girls, Sent with Love,
coloured with copics.
Design Paper - K & C Peppermint Twist
Punched snowflakes covered with Diamond Dust
Pearls and snowflake trim from my stash.
Text made on my comp.
