Christmas Cash !

For some people in my family ( mainly the teenagers! ) cash is the best option at Christmas. But, if that's what they are getting, I at least want it to be in a pretty walllet. Here's my very quick and easy cash wallet....

I used a piece of card approx 160mm x 235mm - scored along the long edge at 55mm and 95mm and with one end punched.  Fold up along the 55mm score line and stitch the sides,  a few mm's from the edge. This will make your wallet big enough for a £20 note. Then fold the top piece down and decorate.
For the band, which keeps the wallet closed, I used a piece of card 335mm x 22mm. (I had to join pieces, but the middle stamp covers this up).

Challenges.

I'll just hang around the mistletoe, hoping to be kissed!!

Woohoo!!! I am soooo excited!   It's time to get the Christmas decorations up. I am waiting for the tree to drop a little before I start trimming it, but I have the fibre optic tree going, my christmas presents boxes on and strings of lights all over the floor that need checking. I better put a call into the National Grid, for when I flip the switch tonight!!!  :-))

Here's a card I made for my daughter and her b/f.   I just love these cute, kissing bears.

I found the 'charms' in the jewellery section of my local craft store - these three came together on a piece of card, complete with the ribbon. They are made by Cousin and called 'Trinkettes' and they have some for sale on the Docrafts site.

 Challenges -
Stamp Something - Christmas Colour Combo.  I went for the traditional red and green, but also tried to give the card a more modern feel.

Candlelight Friends

I love easel cards, but I have yet to master taking a decent photo of one, especially on an overcast day like today - so, apologies for this rubbish picture!

I really enjoyed making this card - I think it has every kind of bling on there..lol** The image is coloured with Copics and I decoupaged the holly leaves and added some gems for the berries. I LOVE the way the 'candle wax' turned out - after colouring it, I added a thick layer of Glossy Accents.

 Challenges -
Allsorts - A great sketch to follow this week.
Stamp Something - Digi Day - you can use any digi image you like.
Secret Crafter - Sparkle and Shine
Die Cut Dreams - Snowflakes

The image is a cute Digi stamp from Cuddly Buddly. I don't know why I haven't come across these before, besides having a fabulous range of craft goodies, they also have digi stamps and printable decoupage sets. There's even a great freebie section for you to give their stamps a try.
DP is a mixture of Memory Box Mistletoe and Spiceberry.
The crystal gems I used were clear, I just used a Copic to colour them red.
The snowflakes are an XCut punch, covered with Diamond Dust.
Behind the image is a narrow, glittered and embossed strip. I bought this thinking that it was stick on ribbon, but it turned out to be a transfer - it's from Daisy and Dandelion.
Sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Comfort glittering!!

I know all about comfort eating, but is there such a thing as 'comfort glittering'?
I think so..
I don't know what happened with this card - it just doesn't seem to work for me.
So, I tried throwing glitter at it, but I'm still not feeling it!
Never mind - it's another one for the pile and I'm sure it will come in useful.

I followed the sketch over at the Penny Black Challenge.
I hasten to add that my not liking the card is NOT a problem with the sketch -
you just have to check out the fab DT work over there to see that.
Once my card was layered up I added the hedgies,
coloured with Copics, a little glitter on the rose and some glossy accents on the balloon.
I stuck the card candy on with foam pads and then the sentiment (made on my comp),
and finally added the flowers.

I would also like to enter this for the Secret Crafter Challenge,
where the theme is 'Anything Goes'.
They have some fab, new manga stamps just arrived in their store,
so go and check them out.

When I stood back and looked at the card it wasn't quite right,
so I snipped off the wired pearls that were on the blooms and got busy with the glitter!

Stamp - Penny Black, Long Kiss
DP - DCWV Valentine's Pack
Stickles glitter. Glossy Accents. Card Candy.

Tutti Fruit Tea!!

Ha!Ha! Do you like my title?
I thought I was so clever when that popped into my head...
:-)
(I need to get out more!! )

Just a quick, cute project to show you today..
this little Apron, with a pocket to hold Tea Bags.

I am entering this for this week's Secret Crafter Challenge,
where the theme is

'Strawberries and Cream'.

Thanks to Penni, for letting me know about the
'Just Us Girls Challenge',
that I am also entering.
I can't believe that their challenge is this apron card, with the same template!!
They must have been sending vibes out to me this morning.
Check out the awesome DT work over there.

I love how this little apron turned out,
and I can just imagine a whole row of them in my kitchen.
All the fruit teas in their appropriate coloured aprons...
blackcurrant, peppermint, mandarin..

I used the apron template from PaperScrapz,
and covered it with K & Co 'Classic' DP
The ribbon, adhesive pearls, brads and eyelets are from my stash.
I stuck the little tags down with a piece of 3D foam,
dusted the edges of them with pink chalk
and made the 'Tea Time' text on my comp.

The rest of her is coloured with copics.

Card File

Well, my first 3D project of the day
ended up in the bin...
with much gnashing of teeth and a few choice words!!
Then I came across a tut for this 'card file'
and thought it would be a great idea for the 'flowers',
Secret Crafter Challenge.
If you need inspiration for this challenge
check out the fabulous work of the DT.

I followed the excellent tutorial from Blythe,
which 4" x 6" cards fit into.

I used the gorgeous, downloadable 'cherish'
design papers from Funky Fairys
and a punch to make the flowers.

Mini Briefcase

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together!!
I was racking my brains to think up a different type of card
for my hubby's birthday next week,
when I saw the challenge over at Secret Crafters.
The theme is to make a 'shaped' card. -
and here's what I came up with.
It's a little briefcase, and the card itself is in the
front pocket, and is in the shape of a gift tag.
I'm sure my hubby will agree with the sentiment on it!!

To make the little briefcase,
I loosely followed a wonderful tutorial from Mel
(Thankyou so much, Mel, for your excellent instructions)

I made my box a little bigger by starting with 12 x 8 card,
so that it was more of a briefcase shape.
Then I added a little pocket at the front, using brads to hold it in place,
and finished it off with a handle on the top.
The little tag uses a stamp from the
Papermania - Stamping For Him set
(coloured with whispers pens)
and I made the sentiment on my computer.

The finished briefcase is approx 6" x 4 1/2" x 1",
so hopefully I will be able to fit
some of hubby's favourite dark chocolate in there.

Double Challenge

Hello,
I have suprised myself today,
I have managed to combine 2 challenges in one card.
A great sketch from Stamp Something,
and stitching from Secret Crafter
It was a party night last night, and I awoke this morning
to little men with hammers, runing riot inside my head!
So, I am amazed that my stitching is anywhere near straight.
The stamp is Magnolia - Guitar Edwin,
coloured with whispers pens.
Design paper is Dovecraft - Masculine
and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Have Your Cake And Eat It!

This is the great new challenge over at
Secret Crafters
I was trying out a new cupcake recipe today,
so I used that as inspiration for my card.

I used my favourite design papers - K & Company Classic.
I paper pieced the cupcake, using a template that was free
in Easter's issue of Simply Cards and Papercrafts.
The blooms are from Poppicrafts and the sentiment
and card candy dots are from Craftwork Cards

The coffee cupcakes are delicious and very easy to make.
The recipe included walnuts, but all I could find was a bag
of pecans at the back of the cupboard.
I don't think I will get any complaints about that though, lol*
If you want to try them yourself the recipe is
at Good Food

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge

Another first for me today,
and it's the Saturday Challenge over at
Secret Crafter

This week's theme is TRANSPORT
You can make any project as long as it relates to this theme,
and all entries go into a prize draw.
Have a look at the excellent DT projects
for inspiration.

My card uses a stamp from the Woodware Playtime set
coloured with whispers pens.
The papers are Dovecraft - Masculine.
The sentiment came from Cardmakers Instant Card Art
The brad was from a swap (thankyou Jackie xxx )

I've just noticed that the sentiment actually says
AND have a great birthday !!!
Hmmm... what can I do about that?
Answers on a postcard....
:-)
