Life Is Sweeter With You... And Doughnuts!

Hello.
Here I am with another Valentine's Day card, featuring these cute, doughnut pals.

This time the challenge at Allsorts, was to create your own background.
I used some pink ink with a stencil, for that drippy effect, and then stamped it with hearts in various pink and white shades.
It doesn't come out too well on the photo, but it's really pretty IRL  o:)

Then I stamped and fussy cut those doughnut pals, and popped them up with foam tape.

Challenge

  • clearly besotted - donut worry / splat it stencil
  • distress inks - worn lipstick / pickled raspberry / festive berries

Celebrate With A Cupcake

 Hello.

I'm sticking with die-cuts again today, for this simple birthday card of a girl and a cupcake.
Hmm.. is one cupcake ever enough?

I kept the background subtle, with this pretty, pierced line texture die, and then had fun stamping her top with shades of pink, orange and green.
I should have moved the sentiment over to the left a touch, but by the time I noticed my girl was stuck fast.

Challenge

  • concord and 9th - celebration squad
  • waffle flower crafts - piercing lines texture die
  • ranger distress ink - spiced pumpkin, pickled raspberry, twisted citron, mowed lawn.

May Your Days Be Furry and Bright

Hello.

The skiing dog is back
and this time I couldn't resist giving him a little wobble  :o)

The background is stencilled and then this cute little die-cut dog was placed on a wobble mechanism, so he can head of down the slopes for some après ski  :o)

Watch the wobble  -  here

The Cheeky Robin

Hello. I'm excited today, to be a guest designer for the

AAA Colourful Challenge

with this sweet, winter snow scene.

There was lots of debate in our house about whether this colour scheme was blue, or green!
As you can see, I went with more blue shades, a touch of green and some lilac (that my dh insisted was in there)   :o)

I can't wait to see what the other designers have come up with.

The background was inked up with distress ink  (tumbled glass)  then I used a small, round stamp for the extra blue/green shades.
The white ink doesn't stamp well, so I made a quick stencil with a piece of scrap card and a hole punch, and sponged the ink through that.

My snowy pals were stamped, fussy cut and coloured with Copics - then popped up with foam tape for some extra dimension.

Check out the amazing work from the Design Team and
I know it's a busy time for everyone, but I hope you'll find some time to play along.

Poolside Fun

The UK is in the middle of a heatwave - everyone is either sat on a small patch of grass in the sun, or melting quietly in the shade, with a cup of tea  :o)
Which one are you?

I used the smaller dies, of this poolside set, to make-up these people lounging in the sun, topping up their tan.

I could just take a dip in that water myself. It might be time to get out the paddling pool :o)

Challenge

  • concord and 9th - poolside dies and stamps
  • the stamp market - criss cross stamp
  • altenew ink - fresh lemon/tide blue
  • rnger distress ink - tumbled glass/spiced marmalade

Just Wanted to Say Hi

Hello.
It's the dreaded one layer card, over at Less is more this fortnight, and to make it doubly difficult, they'd also like to see just one word!

I decided if I was just using one word, I would make it a big one  :-)  and I got out this large 'hi' die.
I die cut it onto some scrap card and then used this as a template to draw the word onto my card blank with a fine liner (of course I messed it up a bit, but we're not looking at that, right?).
Then, I stamped the balloons, using the scrap piece as a mask.
To try and give it some dimension I used a pale grey copic along some of the bottom edges.

the stamp market - hi die
balloon stamp from mft party penguins
ranger inks - canary, orange bliss,  wild berrry

AWESOME

Hello.

I have been dying to play with this fabulous, waffle flower set, but it was just the perfect image for my daughter, so I didn't want her to see any of it before she got her birthday card.
Does that make sense?

Now that she's had her birthday I can share :-)

The set comes with other hair styles and glasses etc,
so you can mix and match other looks
and I can't wait to play with it some more.
