Hey there

I'm struggling !
I seem to have hit a crafting wall.
If I'm honest, I've had days when I thought of packing it in all together.
I'm trying to push through it though  :-(

This is a card for a friend of mine, just to say hi.
She's been ill recently and it's tough not living near her anymore.

I used the insert method for my word balloon, die cutting it into my dp and then
placing a stamped die cut back into the space.
The circle was die cut with a nestie and then backed with some pretty glitter paper and my little owl.
To finish, I scattered some sequins.

Challenges.

Casology - Wood
CAS(E) this Sketch

DP - My Mimd's Eye, 'fine & dandy'
Clearly Besotted - 'you're a hoot' and 'you said it' stamps and dies
Glitter Paper - DCWV 'le tresh chic'
Nestie circle die.  Sequins

Oh Caroline, this is such a lovely card! Really ingenious use of the owl peeking out of the tree and inserting the speech bubble is a lovely touch, I love it and hope it brings your friend some cheer. I live far away from a lot of my friends and miss them!

OK, so you feel you're having a bit of a down time with crafting. To be honest I absolutely love all your creations and you do have lots of followers and commenters who obviously agree.

My guess is that most people go through spells like that - and a hobby can cease to be fun if you find you really have to drive yourself. For a start, remember that the playground is a lovely place to come and play and we'd love to see you there. And maybe you could make a little list of techniques you'd like to try? Doesn't have to be anything expensive.

After doing the weekly snippets write-up I was gawping into thin air here looking for inspiration so I just die cut up some Spellbinders plastic packaging and the aim is to make some faux glass flowers - if I don't set the place ablaze with the heat gun!! Watch this space!

Hugs, Di xx

Hi Caroline
Sorry to hear you're struggling - I know that feeling as felt the same not too long ago - but seem to have found my enthusiasm again - I think it was when I started making Christmas projects lol!!!
Love this fabulous stylish card - the sequins finish it off perfectly.
Take care

What a lovely card! I love your owl against that glittery background! I bet your friend loves this card, too!

Crafting enthusiasm goes up and goes down, and the worst is when the mojo runs away, too! The solution that has worked for me is to just keep working at it, the mojo reappears and so does the enthusiasm. :-) Your work is beautiful. I hope you keep at it!

Caroline I can only speak for myself but there are days when I want to stop challenges then someone says something kind or a may win an honorable mention and I am revived. So I say just keep plugging away because each time you make a card you will learn from it and you will find what makes you happy. The card is cute and creative,.

I wrote you once but the message did not appear. How come? I just want you to know that first your card is charming and we all have bad days. It is just like cooking some days the meal is fantastic and the next day "we should have gone out." Keep cooking and crafting.

Don't you dare pack it in! You're far too talented! We all go through slumps and some of them seem to last forever but don't be hard on yourself. Take a step back and breathe and come back to it when you're ready.
As for this card I love it! The inlaid speech bubble is perfect and that sweet owl peeking out is adorable! Thanks for playing along with CASology this week!

hugs to you - we all have mental blocks - its being creative and sometimes you have so much creativity it needs to come out and it gets all jumbled together.
