Beep Boop Birthday

Hey everyone,
today I'm sharing a cute, robot card with you.

The little robots and elements are die cut, coloured with Copics, and popped up on foam pads.
Some of these pieces, like the bow tie, and the wind up key, are really tiny, but because the dies
are the outline style, they are easy to place and cut.

As you can see, I'm sticking to my promise of adding a bit more colour to my work -
with some coloured card and a snippet of dp.

Challenges.
Cardz 4 Guyz - Happy Birthday
Papertake - It's All New  (I used my new robot stamps and dies)
Pixie's Playground - Snippets   Hello Di xxx Now that I've decided to move away from completely CAS cards,
and add a little more colour, I'm hoping to join you in the playground more,
and make a dent in my box of scrap papers and card :-)

Supplies.
Stamps & Dies - Lawn Fawn Beep Boop Birthday, coloured with Copics.
Lawn Fawn, Stitched Border Die
Inks - Memento Danube Blue / Dandelion
DP - Dovecraft Masculine

The stockings were hung

When I was struggling with crafting a couple of months ago,
a few people suggested that making Christmas cards might help.
Well, they were right. Thank you   :-)
Even though my cards are much more CAS, I really feel as though I'm getting somewhere now.

Here's my latest card for the pile.

I'll definitely make this design again, it's quick to do and great for using up those snippets of Christmas paper.
I used a little, Christmas stocking die and cut the shape 3 times.
The dp was lined up with the die cuts and stuck onto the card base.
Then, I attach my die-cut card with foam pads - I really like the depth and shadow that this gives you.

All that's left, is to add a simple sentiment strip and a little gem heart.

Challenges.
Pixie's Snippet's Playground - Use snippets
Winter Wonderland - Anything Goes (2nd entry)

Supplies.
WPlus9 Heartfelt Holidays Stamps and Dies
DP - Dovecraft - Christmas Fancy

Penguins are cool!

Hello there,
hope you're all having a good weekend.
I can't believe we're in the 2nd week of November already.
I need to buckle down to make some more Christmas cards.
Here's one more for the pile.

Finances are tight here, but I allowed myself 2 new stamp sets for Christmas cards.
This penguin is from my first purchase - Stampendous Yule Penguins.
Who could resist this cutie?
Plus, I think the set is versatile for guys, girls and couples.

I played along with Seize the Sketch

I wish you could see how totally gorgeous that glitter ribbon is IRL.
It hurt to cut into, I can tell you and I have left it out on my desk, just to look at.
I need to get out more!!  ;-)

God loves a trier!

Damn it!
I was so pleased with myself, last week, to enter my BOO card over at LIM,
until I realised I had fallen foul of the challenge rules.
I really should learn to read the small print.
So, here's my second attempt - just a couple of problems
1. it's probably not CAS enough and
2. it's a day late!!!!
Ha ha!
God loves a trier.

I made a little snow scene with some pretty DP and my landscape die.
The cute LOTV bear is coloured with Copics and stickles glitter
(I also dotted some glitter on the pink DP)
and then he is popped up on foam pads.

Looking through my sewing box this week, I came across some bias binding
and wondered how I could use it on my cards.
It's a little thick for tying into a bow, so I experimented with stamping on it.
It works beautifully  - and the binding is only about 20p a metre.

Challenges.
LOTV's Ideas to Inspire - Anything Goes
Crafty Ribbons - Anything Goes with Ribbon
4 Krafty Girlz - Anything Goes
Loves Rubber Stamps - Anything Goes

Stamp - LOTV Presents for 2 coloured with Copics and Stickles glitter   DP - Dovecraft Christmas Fancy

Good Morning Mr Robin

Hello peeps!
I really must get a wriggle on with my Christmas cards -
I made a list this week and scared myself at how many I have to make!
That's why this week's challenge, chosen by Jenny
at the CES Challenge Blog is just perfect for me.
The theme is   SEEING RED
Now, you don't have to go down the Christmas route,
but please make sure that red is the main colour of your card/project.

I started with a 6 x 6 On the Edge card, matted and covered with Dovecraft Back to Basics Christmas DP.

I used a couple of stamps to create a little snow scene -  paper-piecing some parts of the bear, colouring the rest with Copics and adding a sprinkling of my favourite Glamour Dust.

I don't have one of those fancy 'punch around the page' punches, so for my frame I used a Fiskars border punch, cutting the corners as best I could, and covering the joins with Card Candi, a Catslife Press stamp and a bow.

Lots of my supplies came from Crafty Emma's. Just click on the links to be taken to the store.

Hop along to the main CES blog,
to see the amazing work of my fellow teamies
and join us this week, for your chance to win a £10 gift voucher
to spend in the store (excl p&p).

Challenges
ABC Challenge - Anything goes ( great to see this challenge back, with fab work from the new DT)
Simon Says - Sparkle and Bling
Forever Friends - Use Sentiment.

Supplies.
Forever Friends Stamp / Alota Stamps Snow Fence
CatsLife Press Stamp.
6 x 6 On the Edge Card.
Glamour Dust / Card Candi / Fiskars Border Punch
Ribbon & Button from my stash.

Tag, you're it!

How is everyone getting on with the new blogger interface?
Have you been brave enough to try it?
I am starting to get used to where everything is and I like the much larger post editor page.
Hopefully, they've corrected the timing bug, and this scheduled post will go out ok.

This week at Totally Papercrafts the lovely Marion is our host and she has chosen the theme,

 Cute with Buttons

Everyone has buttons, right? And if you can't find something to match your project, you could always try making your own.

How adorable are these Teddy Bo & Co's - I couldn't resist them any longer.
I think they are going to be really versatile too.

Here's a close up of one of the tags - it's my first time colouring them, so I haven't  got them quite right yet.

Challenges -
Papertake - Anything Goes
Crafty Ribbons Challenge - Festive Cheer in September. This is a new challenge blog, so check it out if your haven't seen it yet. The DT work is awesome.

Supplies.
Digi Stamps - Teddy Bo & Co, coloured with Copics.
DP - Dovecraft, Christmas Fancy
Button and ribbon from my stash
Bakers Twine from Crafty Emmas

Snow Fun

Hello crafters
it's time for another Totally Papercrafts challenge
I'm sure the week's are getting shorter!
Our lovely host this time around is Cathy (pop over and say hello)
and the theme is...

Holidays

Now, I instantly thought of the Christmas Holiday season,
but you could make your project any type of Holiday theme.
Check out my teamies fab work on the challenge blog
for some inspiration.

Our sponsor this week is the terrific Karen's Doodles and I used their cute First Snowfall digi.
I cut my background black card to fit my card blank and then made a patchwork up with the DP. I have lots of little scraps of paper, so this is a great way to use them up.

The image is coloured with Copics and some fine silver glitter and then popped up, onto a piece of dot embossed card. I also added a little glossy accents to the snowman's 'coal' pieces.

I found a really old snowflake stamp in my Christmas box, so I stamped it with silver ink and then embossed it with clear powder.
IRL it looks really pretty
and adds a bit of texture.

Challenges -
Aud Sentiments - Use 'Merry Christmas' sentiment
Simon Says Stamp - Christmas In August
Die Cut Dreams - Holiday Fun

Supplies -
Karen's Doodles Digi Stamp.       DP - Dovecraft, Xmas Fancy.     Copics
Embossed Dots Folder.           White Gems  Glossy Accents.   Silver glitter.
Making Memories Chipboard Sentiment.
Martha Stewart Doily Punch.
Silver Ink stamped snowflake - clear embossing powder.

Christmas in July

Do you know, that if you make one Christmas card a week from now on, you will have 23 cards by Christmas. Doesn't sound a lot does it?
So, if you want to get a head start,  why don't you join our challenge at CES this week, where the theme is

Christmas in July

This Gruffy Little Gnome, from Meljen, was a big hit last year, so it seemed like a good image to start with.
He is coloured with Copics and paper-pieced. Somehow, I even managed to get the snowflake design to be right on the front of his jumper. Go me :-)

The DPs are Dovecraft 'let it snow' - available from Crafty Emma's Store. They have either a glitter effect, or a co-ordinating coloured background and they are quite thick papers, so they would be great for 3D projects.

Don't forget, if you join in the challenge you could win a £10 voucher to spend in Crafty Emma's, and besides lots of goodies she has some gorgeous papers available to pre-order.

Challenges.
Stamp Something - Christmas in July
Creative Inspirations - No Flowers Allowed

Supplies.
6 x 6 Card Blank from Crafty Emma's
Ticket made on my comp and punched with McGills Ticket Punch.
Bah Humbug made on my comp.
Xcut Punched snowflakes covered with Diamond Dust
Pearls from Crafty Emma's - Don't forget you can use Copics to colour your pearls to match your card.

I'll just hang around the mistletoe, hoping to be kissed!!

Woohoo!!! I am soooo excited!   It's time to get the Christmas decorations up. I am waiting for the tree to drop a little before I start trimming it, but I have the fibre optic tree going, my christmas presents boxes on and strings of lights all over the floor that need checking. I better put a call into the National Grid, for when I flip the switch tonight!!!  :-))

Here's a card I made for my daughter and her b/f.   I just love these cute, kissing bears.

I found the 'charms' in the jewellery section of my local craft store - these three came together on a piece of card, complete with the ribbon. They are made by Cousin and called 'Trinkettes' and they have some for sale on the Docrafts site.

 Challenges -
Stamp Something - Christmas Colour Combo.  I went for the traditional red and green, but also tried to give the card a more modern feel.
Secret Crafter - Christmas

Image from Digi Stamp Boutique - Eddie and Jemima Xmas Kiss, coloured with Copics. Polar White flower soft on their hats and boots and some little white gems for their buttons.
DP is Dovecraft, Fancy Christmas.

Totally Papercrafts #45 Christmas Punch !

Hello everyone... hope you are all well, and, if you have snow, I hope you are keeping wrapped up warm at home. It's time for the new challenge over at Totally Papercrafts. HUGE thanks to everyone who joined in last week.
This week the challenge is being hosted by the wonderful Heidi and the theme is

Christmas Punches

So dig out those punches and get crafting... we can't wait to see what you come up with.   Here's my project  -  a Christmas Countdown.   It was 36 days till Christmas when I made this, but now we are down to

22 sleeps till Santa

This is a really easy card to make and you could use it for a countdown to anything... wedding day, special holiday, retirement day!! lol**
I die cut the squares and added numbers cut on my Slice machine. Then I punched holes in them, and the card and attached them with some blue cord.
The weight of the numbers makes the card want to splay out, so to stop this, I cut a strip of card, scored and folded at each end, and attached it to the insde of the card. If you also score across the centre of this strip you can fold the card flat for storage, or posting.

DP -Dovecraft, Christmas Fancy.   Martha Stewart, Lace Border Punch.    Numbers were cut on my Slice Machine.   Snowflakes are a XCut punch, covered with Diamond Dust.    Text made on my comp.

Snow Day

Hello everyone... I do have a quick card to show you, but first the 'Snow Bulletin' - are you having fun in the snow yet?? I won't be venturing out anywhere today - the roads are pretty much blocked and it's starting to come down again. I feel a film day coming on!

Here's a photo taken from my back door this morning - since then we have had another few inches of snow -
and Suzie is beginning to get lost in it.

Here's my CAS card - another quick make to add to the pile.  I would like to enter it for the following challenges..
Papertake - Sketch. (I did rotate the centre elements, so that my image would fit).
Allsorts - Monochrome
Digital Tuesday - Animals at Christmas Time.
Top Tip Tuesday - Anything Goes

Digital Image - freebie from Ladybug and Friends        DP Dovecraft Christmas Fancy
Pearls and ribbon from my stash.    Snowflake covered with Diamond Dust.

Deck the Halls

Is it time to put the Christmas Tree up yet???    I can't wait    :-)   We all troop off together to get our tree - like the Griswolds in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation ( A must watch film for us over the hols ) - except our tree comes from the local DIY store, not the wilderness!!

This cutie is James Bear, Deck the Halls, from LOTV. He's coloured with Copics, baby blue stickles on his tinsel and some glossy accents on his star and baubles. The DP is Dovecraft, Christmas Fancy and the text stamp is from a Penny Black, Christmas Critters set.
I found these pretty little star charms, that I had completely forgotten about - I can't even remember where I got them from, but Bunny Zoe's Crafts has a great selection of charms.

 Challenges -
I followed Arielle's fab sketch over at The Pink Elephant.
Pollycraft - A Glittery Christmas

Rocket Man

What a fun challenge there is this week over at Pollycraft,
Joey has chosen the theme 'let's have a sing song'.
Not as difficult as it sounds -
you just have to create your card with a song in mind.
The DT work is awesome !!
Go and check it out.

My favourite song at the moment is Lady Ga Ga, Alejandro
(join an orderly queue behind me for the dancers!! )
but I have no idea what I could have made for that!! lol**

So my entry is "Rocket Man" Elton John...

Stamp - Background, Rocket and Spaceman all from the Pollycraft 'Space Mission' Set
Coloured with Copics. With some stick on silver stars added to the background.
Design Paper - Dovecraft Masculine
Sentiment - Craftwork Cards

Prince Ian

Paper piecing is one of my favourite things to do, and this week over at
Digital Tuesday
the challenge is to paper piece a digital image.
The image I chose was Prince Ian, from The Greeting Farm
and I pieced his little top and trousers in green with white spots.

This is also my first attempt at a Tri Fold Shutter card - and they are sooo easy to make.
I followed the excellent instructions by Bonnie at Splitcoaststampers
I just made my overall card slightly larger at 6.5" x 12"

I wasn't sure that the quote in the middle really fitted,
(I tried to convince myself that Prince Ian was dressed as a shakesperean actor, so it was fine)
but this card is for my hubby,
so he probably won't read that bit anyway!!!
:-)
Recipe:
Digital Image - Prince Ian from The Greeting Farm, paper pieced and coloured with Copics.
Design Paper - Dovecraft Masculine.
Quote from DCWV Rub on Quotes 'Love'.
Corners, brads, buttons and birthday tag from my stash.

Lili Of The Valley Challenge

Just had time to squeeze in another card,
before I have to clear up my craft things and start
cooking the Sunday Roast.

This is a great sketch over at
Lili of the Valley
You have 2 weeks to submit your entry,
so plenty of time to head on over there
and check out their wonderful DT work.
Recipe:
Stamp - Magnolia, Guitar Edwin,
coloured with whispers pens.
Design Paper: Dovecraft, Masculine.
Shapes, cut from my Nestabilities, Labels One.
Being my usual clumsy self,
I managed to get brown ink on my white card,
luckily I managed to cover it up with those little stars,
that I found lurking at the bottom of my craft box.

Double Challenge

Hello,
I have suprised myself today,
I have managed to combine 2 challenges in one card.
A great sketch from Stamp Something,
and stitching from Secret Crafter
It was a party night last night, and I awoke this morning
to little men with hammers, runing riot inside my head!
So, I am amazed that my stitching is anywhere near straight.
The stamp is Magnolia - Guitar Edwin,
coloured with whispers pens.
Design paper is Dovecraft - Masculine
and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Something for the guys

This week's challenge at Charisma Cardz is

without making it too cutesy!
I used this week's great sketch from Cute Card Thursday.
