Eye of Newt and Toe of Frog

Hello.
Today I'm sharing another wizard card.
This little, potion maker is super cute and looks just like my youngest grandson.

This is another digi image from lili of the valley so it's a super, quick make.
I printed the image out, coloured it with copic markers and adhered it to a black, background panel.

Challenge

I definitely saw Halloween colours here -
using purple, green, orange and black tones.

Football Fever

It's all about the football right now and Leeds Utd.
We smashed our last game 6 - 0 and we're going up into the Premiership next season.
Wahoo!  Bring it on.

So, no surprise that I reached for this cute, footballer stamp.

I stamped the boy and his ball and then masked them, to do a little ink smooshing.

I found a video on YouTube, by Natalie at  NB cards, where she shows you how to make and use a very simple, smooshing tool. I am not great with 'random' so this was a game changer for me. Allowing a lot more control of where the ink goes. This was just my first attempt, and I'm well chuffed with it.

I wish I'd stamped and smooshed further down the card panel though,  but hey-ho!

Challenges

I've used distress inks on the smooshing, and copic markers for the boy.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • LOTV - footballer stamp
  • distress ink - peacock feathers / lucky clover
  • sentiment - lawn fawn - scootin' by
  • pinkfreshstudio - diagonal stitch rectangle
  • memento black ink got the footballer

Deck The Halls

Isn't this bear cute? This is one of those stamps that has really stood the test of time. I bought him back in 2010, and here he is, getting his annual inking up o:)

I followed along at Freshly Made Sketches, just flipping the sketch and making one edge a little softer.
After inking, I splattered some water around, and then overlaid a star/snow stencil and used some white paste. The little bear is stamped and coloured with copics.

It's hard to tell on these photos, but I raised that middle panel onto foam tape, so it's much more 3D IRL

Freshly Made Sketches

  • distress oxide - salty ocean
  • spellbinders all the stars stencil, with white embossing paste

CHAMPAGNE IS THE ANSWER

Hello.
I fancied a bit of colouring today, so I dug deep into my old stash
for this Lili Of The Valley stamp.
I just love those adorable little mice.

Who wouldn't love a get together with a champagne tower, right now?

I kept everything else simple, with a heat embossed sentiment and a few scattered gems.

Football Crazy, Football Mad

Is it just me, or does September seem to be
a really busy month for birthdays?
I almost forgot one for a little boy, so this was a super, quick make.

I added a piece of hillside border (I always cut extras, so that I have spares)
to a postage stamp frame -
and attached it to the front of my card with foam pads.

Then I fussy cut my footballer, and football - coloured him with Copics  -
and attached them both with foam tape.
If I had more time, I would have found out the recipients team,
and coloured in the proper football strip, instead of plain red,
but I did have time to add a little glossy accents to the ball.

Shake it

Afternoon everyone...
Today I'm sharing a set of Christmas, shaker cards with you.

After a rummage in my Christmas box, I came across these pre-coloured toppers,
from Lili Of The Valley, that are just perfect for a quick and simple shaker card.

I made my shaker 'snow' from a combination of flower soft, diamond dust,
sequins and beads, and then, all that's needed, is a simple, sentiment banner
to complete the card.

Challenges.

Simon Says - Christmas/Holidays

Supplies.
LOTV Toppers. I think these are now availableas Art Pads.
Banner - WPlus9 Stamps and Dies.

Trim The Tree

Hey there!
Looking at all those snow pics from the US has me dreaming of the white sutff.
I'm not gonna lie, I was a little disappointed to wake up this morning
and find we didn't have a 6ft snowdrift to wade through :-)
Tell me I'm not the only one!!

So, I made my own little snow scene.

I followed the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch
and made this super quick shaker card.

The image is a pre-coloured, Lili Of The Valley Topper,
and my 'snow' is made up of flower soft, diamond dust and a few sequins.
(much more sparkly than the photo shows)

God loves a trier!

Damn it!
I was so pleased with myself, last week, to enter my BOO card over at LIM,
until I realised I had fallen foul of the challenge rules.
I really should learn to read the small print.
So, here's my second attempt - just a couple of problems
1. it's probably not CAS enough and
2. it's a day late!!!!
Ha ha!
God loves a trier.

I made a little snow scene with some pretty DP and my landscape die.
The cute LOTV bear is coloured with Copics and stickles glitter
(I also dotted some glitter on the pink DP)
and then he is popped up on foam pads.

Looking through my sewing box this week, I came across some bias binding
and wondered how I could use it on my cards.
It's a little thick for tying into a bow, so I experimented with stamping on it.
It works beautifully  - and the binding is only about 20p a metre.

Crafty Ribbons - Anything Goes with Ribbon

I Believe in Santa Paws

Ta Da!   My first Christmas card of the year.
I don't want to cause panic,
but you do know there are only 87 days to go, don't you?

My Christmas mojo needed a jump start, so to make it easy I used one of my cute,
LOTV die-cut images from last year.
I also stuck with my favourite DP.
The grey isn't your usual Christmas colour, but I like it with the red.
What do you think?

I used liquid pearls and stickles glitter on the image, for some added sparkle.
The star charm was tied on with some gorgeous, whispy red twine,
and I found some sequins at the bottom of my 'bits & pieces' box.

Challenges.
Papercraft Star - Inspiration Photo. (I opted for adding a metal charm)
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Creative Knockouts - Your favourite things. (My favs. are the grey chevron DP - I use it  a LOT!! and of course glitter!

Less Work, More Football

Morning campers.... it's decidedly chilly here today.
In the space of a week, I have gone from summer dresses and sandals
 to leggings, jumpers and boots.
I have had to issue strict instructions to hubby, NOT to put the heating on..
I don't want him getting used to the warmth!!! lol**

Anyhoo... here's today's card, for a friend's little boy
I'm not sure how old he is, but when I find out, I will add a die cut number to the little tag.

My footballer is coloured with Copics, with some glossy accents on the football.
His jersey is paper pieced.
The grass is a bit of a mess - it's the first time I've tried it.
I don't think my colours are right at all, but once I'd started it there was no going back!!

100 ! Somebody get more candles!

Woohoo... it's Friday and the sun is shining.
I hope you have some great plans for the weekend.
I plan to laze in the garden, drink melon margaritas and eat deli food.
No cooking allowed ;-)

This week I was asked to make a 100th birthday card, with a flower theme.
Eek! You know I can't 'do' flowers.
Then I remembered my LOTV art pad... easy peasy :-)

The art pads are fantastic for us 'florally challenged' crafters and, because they are pre-coloured, they make a super quick card.
I spent more time playing with glitter here than anything else. :-)

The image and sentiment are attached with foam pads, to give it all a bit more interest.
I wish the camera picked up the colours and sparkle better.
IRL the chevron DP is a very pretty, pale pink (Blossom) and the glamour dust (my favourite glitter) catches the light beautifully.

Wake up and smell the flowers

It's pouring down.
The lawn is littered with leaves and branches and
the thermometer, on the back door, is reading 4C.
Are we really half-way through May ?
I hope you're keeping warm :-)

It's no secret that I am 'florally challenged',
so I was excited to discover a new product from LOTV - Wild Flowers Art Pads

I flicked through the pad a hundred times, wondering what to do and finally found inspiration,
after a visit to Katina's blog.
I love how she used the art pad to make simple, but totally gorgeous cards.

All I added to the images was a liberal sprinkling of glamour dust, which is so difficult to photograph,
but you can just make it out below. IRL it's very sparkly!

Mademoiselle Noel

How is your Christmas card pile coming along?
I think I am almost done - just a few family cards to make.
I got the shock of my life buying stamps yesterday -
  90p a card - eek!!
Will have to have a major re-think next year.

Here's a girly card for my niece.
(Sorry about the rubbish photo - IRL there is lots of sparkle on her fur trim)

When I saw how simple this was, I went a little giddy with the liquid pearls :-)
I've also just realised that my mademoiselle noel is floating in mid air!!
I will add a little shading, under her feet, before she goes in the post.

'Tis the season to go shopping!

I have had one of those run around days today -
where I have taken pictures of my card in just about every room in the house.
I've finally settled on these - the best of the bunch I'm afraid!

This was a quick make, using Lili of the Valley die cuts.
I used a shaped nestie to make a 'window' in my card and stuck one of the scenic die cuts to the inside piece.

The little shopper was cut from one of the die cuts and everything was sprinkled with Glamour Dust and Stickles.
IRL this is VERY sparkly.

The Crafty Pad - Christmas Is Coming

The Little Mouse Chocolate Factory

It's sketcheroony day over at Totally Papercrafts today.
Cathy is our lovely host and Sue has been busy cooking up a sketch for you to follow. You can flip it, rotate it and even change the shapes - as long as we can see the original layout.

This is the first chance I've had to use my new LOTV stamp - isn't it sweet?

I dug deep into my paper stash and found this pink and grey pad that I have had since the dinosaurs roamed the earth.
Some crafters might spend a good 5 minutes trying to rub off the smudges on the paper, before they realised that it has a subtle, distressed effect - but I wouldn't be that stoopid!! ;-)

Don't forget to visit the main blog to see the fab work of my teamies and, if you play along this week, you could win a $25 gift voucher for the Simon Says Stamp Store.

Challenges.

Champagne Party

How cute are these little mice, with their champagne fountain?
Just perfect for the last challenge of the year over at CES, where our theme is

Party, Party, Party!

This challenge will run til January 6th.

I used a 6 x 6 Petal Point card as my base, with GCD Ella Blue DPs.
The Lili of the Valley image is coloured with Copics and sprinkled with Glamour Dust.
I kept the card pretty simple and just added a few gems, pearls, card candi and a sentiment from Crafwork Cards.

Don't forget to pop over to the main blog for details of the £10 prize to spend in Crafty Emma's store,

Christmas Kisses

Morning everyone, time for another challenge at the CES Challenge Blog,
but first there is an update from Emma and some new pics of her totally gorgeous princess. Pop over and check them out here.

Our lovely host this week is Carrie
and she has chosen the theme

Traditional Christmas

I went for the traditional christmas colours of red and green, with this sweet Mistletoe Kisses image.

The image is a pre-coloured die cut, so all I had to do was add a little glamour dust and stickles pearls.
I used a 6 x 6 On the Edge card blank, with red gems on the petal points.
The DP is Dovecraft Back to Basics and the snowflakes were die cut, and sprinkled with more glamour dust.

So, if you still have some Christmas cards to make, why not make one of them traditonal and enter our challenge.
You could win yourself a $10 voucher to spend at Crafty Emma's (excl p and p).

... sleeps till Santa

Brrrrr... it's cold here today, so no battling with the Christmas shoppers for me. A day in front of the fire with the telly on, is a much better idea :-)

Our lovely host at CES this week is Donna, and the theme she has chosen is

Bear Necessities

so we would like to see a bear somewhere on your card/project.

I made a little countdown calendar that can keep me up to date on how fast those days are slipping away!!!

I used a 6 x 6 petal edge card as my base and covered it with Prima, North Country papers.
I die cut some rectangles and  numbers and attached them by punching holes through the card and tying them on with Divine Twine. This allows you to just flip the numbers over.

My bear is from Lili of the Valley, coloured with Copics and sprinkled with Glamour Dust.

I blinged the background paper up, by adding some Christmas gems.

Here's a pic of the little strip of card that I attach inside, to the front and back of the base card. This just stops it from splaying open, but allows you to fold the card flat, to fit in an envelope.

Now grab yourself a coffee and head over to the main blog to check out the amazing work of my teamies.
And, if you fancy playing along this week, you could win a £10 voucher (excl. p & p)  to spend at Crafty Emma's.

Challenges

Diva's by Design - Anything Goes
Simon Says - Anything Goes
