I Heart Flowers

Have you started thinking of Valentine's Day yet?
For the last few nights I have been sewing little, felt hearts for a cute project for my girls.
So I had hearts on the brain when I made this card :-)

I used a Molly Blooms stamp, masking off the flowers and replacing them with little, heart buttons.
The 'I love you' is cut from a rub-on love quote. I have a stack of these, that I've never really known what to do with. It just dawned on me that I don't have to use the whole quote, I can just cut out the words I want!! Duh!

Challenges
City Crafter - Forever Mine - (Use Hearts)
Papercraft Star - Buttons
C.R.A.F.T. -  Valentine's Day or Love
Papertake -  Tie Up Your Loose Ends (Use A Bow)

  • Molly Blooms, Floral Line
  • Copics
  • Heart Buttons
  • Twine
  • Rub-on love quote, DCWV

Happy Birthday 2U

Don't laugh... it's taken me 6 hours to make this card.
6 HOURS!!!!
I could have been de-greasing the cooker, or mowing the lawn, or tackling the ironing mountain!!
My vision of a squirrel in an aeroplane (don't ask!) ended up in the bin - twice.
Then, I learnt my lesson and went in search of a nice sketch, which was kindly provided by Natalie of Creative Inspirations.

I used stars, instead of  flowers and I couldn't quite squeeze them in next to each other, but I'm sure you can still make out the original sketch.

Can you believe, when I'd finished the card and went to stand it up, I realised I had tied the string all the way round it (not just on the top layer) Duh!! I had to cut it off and start again.

Challenges.
Creative Inspirations - Natalie's Sketch
Stamptacular - It's Your Birthday
ABC Challenge -  Y is for Y Chromosome (male themed)
Crafty Sentiments - Happy Birthday

Drivers, start your engines!

Happy Saturday everyone.
Is summer officially over?
Can I get out my jumpers and thick woollies now? :-)

We want you to play along with another CES Challenge this week.
Our lovely host is Kaylou
and she has chosen the theme

 Banners, Bunting and Flags

If you need some inspiration check out the awesome work from the DT

I needed a 50th Birthday card for a friend, so flags and bunting were perfect.

I know this image is a bit different for a 50th birthday,
but the person it's meant for has a car like this, that he and my hubby take circuit racing, so there is method in my madness!

I have used one of these 'On the Edge' card blanks from Crafty Emmas
Have you seen them? They are 6 x 6 smooth white card and you can get different edge designs.
DP is Fancy Pants 'It's the little things' also available at Emmas

The image is AJ the Racing Driver from the Stamping Boutique
coloured with Copics and some glossy accents on the tyres.
The numbers were cut on my slice machine - basic elements card
Bunting is a Molly Blooms stamp, paper pieced with the DP.

Pop along to Crafty Emma's this weekend and check out the
GORGEOUS NEW STOCK that has just arrived.
And, you know what 'new stock' means -
it means there is a massive SALE to make way for all the new goodies.
Grab yourself a bargain whilst you are over there.

And remember,  if you join us this week, you could win a £10 gift voucher
to spend in the store (excl p&p).

Hoppy Easter

Time to dig out those shorts and flip flops, girls and fire up the old BBQ - apparently we are having a mini heatwave this weekend.  I have the hot tub turned up and a nice bottle of Sauvignon in the fridge!!

Here's a card I made for Easter. I don't send Easter cards, but I have one of those plastic menu stands, that a card slides into and I keep it on my mantelpiece, with whichever card suits the season/occasion.

 Challenges -
Do You Stack Up? - Follow that yellow brick road.  These digi papers are all in a shade called 'sunshine' - hope that's yellow enough!
CES - Monochromatic
Digi Stamp Boutique - April Competition

Stamp - Digi Stamp Boutique, Spring Hoppy, coloured with Copics, with a little cotton ball, for the bunny's tail.
Digi Papers - Pink Petticoat, Pinstripes and Apples, in Sunshine
Bunting - Molly Blooms stamp (free in a magazine), paper pieced and attached with foam pads.
Happy Easter sentiment made on my comp.

Eat more cake!

I really, really struggled with this week's 'Pastel' challenge at Less is More, and after several attempts went in the bin, I finally settled on this - still not too happy with it though!

I made the text on my computer. By the time I decided that the black outline was all wrong, it was too late to go back and change it. Next time, though!!  :D)

The little cupcake is from a Molly Blooms set, that came free in a craft mag.
I coloured it with Copics and a touch of glitter, and popped it up with foam tape.

*** I will add the text to my freebies at the top of the page, if anyone wants to grab it.***

Sweet little cupcake

Morning folks - are you all enjoying the weekend?
For some reason I came over all girly this morning and made this little cupcake card, with sparkle and ribbon and pretty papers.

It may have something to do with the  Simply Homemade magazing that I picked up yesterday. It's new out (from the same people that make Simply Cards and Papercrafts) and is full of cute and gorgeous crafts, with some easy cupcake recipes thrown in for good measure.
I used the cupcake and bunting stamps that were part of a Molly Blooms set, free with this month's copy.
DP is Papermania, Blueberry Hill. Card Candy covered with Stickles glitter.

Challenges -
Do You Stack Up - Anything Goes
Fussy and Fancy - Embossing and/or Paper-piecing.  No embossing, but my cupcake is paper-pieced.

Now I have 'girly' out of my system I am back to having some real fun. Whilst hubby is away motor racing I decided I would rebuild the shower!! OK - I was just going to take the old tiles off, but it seems that, whoever stuck them on originally, wanted that shower to withstand a nuclear blast!!
It's only a little hole, isn't it??  He probably won't even notice!!  :D)
