Fairy Wishes

This week's challenge theme at CES is Angels and Fairies.
Whenever I think of fairies I am always reminded of the Cottingley Fairies story. Do you know it? In the early 1900's two young girls took pictures of themselves, with the fairies that lived at the bottom of the garden! They managed to fool a lot of people, including the great Arthur Conan Doyle ( who wrote Sherlock Holmes )  that the photos were real. :-))
Here's my little fairy offering for you... the adorable 'baby flora fairy' from Mo's Digital Pencil.

I used two triangles, covered in DP ( DCWV Nana's Nursey) and stitched to my card base, to create a little pocket - then added some pretty, pink pearls to the edges - there is a great range of these pearls and other gems at Crafty Emma's Store.  The 'little girls' sentiment is from the Making Memories Craft Kit.

For inside the pocket I used a piece of card, covered in the DP and added 2 ribbon tabs. I coloured Flora with Copics and used some fine art glitter on her wings. I never really know where to use the white highlighter pen, and I think I went a little overboard with it!

Entered for challenge - Do You Stack Up? - Pink

Can you go without ?

Without Designer Paper, that is!   That's the new challenge over at CES this week.   So, step away from your new stacks of DP and show us what you can come up with.

This really was a challenge for me  - and I racked my brains to come up with something. In the end, I made my own DP with a little heart stamp - something I have NEVER done before - so I was pretty pleased with the result.
I also added a little bit of glitter, but the light is so bad right now, it's not really picking it up.

The Catslife Press Birthday Stamp and  Card Candy are available from Crafty Emma's Store   Check out the fab range of other goodies that Emma sells and, if you're looking for Wedding supplies, Emma has just opened her Wedding Shop with lots of gorgeous stationery for your special day.

The heart stamp was from the Stampin' Up set, 'Doodle That' - inked with Papermania pink ink.  Ribbon from my stash.

All Creatures Great and Small

Did Santa bring you lots of new crafting things to play with?? Don't worry if he didn't - just head on over to Crafty Emma's Store and check out all her delicious goodies.
I was thrilled when Emma asked me to be a Guest Designer this January - and this week's theme at CES Challenges is

All Creatures Great and Small

Check out the blog to see the awesome work of Emma and her DT.
Here's my card

I used these cute lovebirds from Digital Stamp Oasis, coloured with Copics and a sprinkling of stickles glitter.
The bloom is a Making Memories dyable blossom ( pansy)  part of the MM Craft Kit available at CES. I edged the blooms with a blue Copic and then sprayed them with glacier Glimmer Mist, adding a pearl brad to the centre.
The butterflies were cut on my Slice machine ( Parties design card), sprayed with glimmer mist, and I added a centre pearl. Emma has a fabulous collection of these flat backed pearls in her store - here.
I wasn't sure whether to use this card for an Anniversary or a Wedding, so I haven't added the sentiment yet!

DP is Memory Box, Spearmint.  You can also find Memory Box papers at Emma's Store.   Fancy corners are Sizzix, Architectural Accents.

Christmas Crackers

Well, one day we were knee deep in snow and the next, it was completely gone!! Like magic :-)) Don't worry if you're missing it though - we could have it all over again at the end of the week!!!
Here's a couple of Christmas Crackers to show you - I made them using Karita's tutorial in the Christmas Magnolia Ink magazine. I have put an envelope with money inside mine, but they are a really good size for a small present - (very) roughly the main body is 7" x 2.5".

Try as I might, I can't get the ends of my top cracker to stay pushed out, but it still looks ok!

Challenges
Stamp Something - Digi Day.     I have used Cuddly Buddly Digi Images.
Cuddly Buddly Crafts - The Icing's on the Card.    I added Star Dust Stickles glitter to both images and the edges of the leaves, punched the flowers from glitter card and sprinkled Diamond Dust on the snowflake.
CES Challenges - Anything BUT a Christmas Card - I know it 'Christmassy' but it's Not a card!!   ;-))

Just Cute Bears & Friends - Anything BUT a Card

Forever Autumn

Help! Calling all you eagle-eyed stampers.   This is one of my fav stamps, but I just can't decide if the little girl is reaching for a flower, with her left arm - what do you think??? Is that her hand around the flower???

I used  my fav. papers for this card - Websters Pages - they're so gorgeous, you don't want to cover them up. I did manage to keep the cute little squirrel  in one corner!

Challenges -
CES - 'Forever Autumn'.  I decided to stick with browns for my card, but check out the fab DT work on the challenge blog for some rich Autumn colours. Emma is offering a fab embellie box to this week's winner.
Stampin' for the Weekend - a great sketch from Sandie, with a twist - you must add a butterfly to your creation. The prize up for grabs this week is a $25 voucher from Simon Says.

Stamp - GCS Artstamps, Little Girl    coloured with Copics.
DP - Websters Pages Triple Collection.          Gems are Papermania Mosaics.

Calorie free chocolate !!!

Put 'eat chocolate' at the top of your list of things to do today - then at least you'll get one thing done!!!

Here's a 'calorie free' chocolate, caramel card.

I had another go at 'distressing' with this card - it's not really my thing - but I quite like the way it turned out. I also sponged the background, behind Anya - it's done with a papermania copper coloured ink and, in real life, has a shimmer to it that the camera just doesn't pick up.
Anya is 3D'd and coloured with Copics, and I added a couple of little pearls to her shoes.
I love the ribbon - I found it at the bottom of my ribbon box and I think it came from a box of chocolates!

 Challenges -
Friday Sketchers - Great sketch by Claudia and the chance to win some fab digis from Lauretta's Digital Stamps
CES Challenges -  Who can resist Sandie's 'Chocolate Caramel' theme? With the chance to win a gorgeous My Mind's Eye button box. Check out the DT work for some yummy, chocolate caramel projects!!!

Stamp - The Greeting Farm, Miss Anya Dressy       DP - Daisy and Dandelion, Picnic Patch
Raffia Lace from Bunny Zoe's Crafts                       Square Gems are Papermania, Mosaics
Ribbon and adhesive pearls from my stash.

Only drink beer on days that end in Y !!

Just a quick card from me today - before I tackle the ironing mountain!! I have used one of my smaller stash of cards ( 6" x 4" ) that just doesn't seem to give me enough room to add anything. So I increased the size by adding the circle at the top.

This is the first time I have used this fun Beer Monster, from Pollycraft - he does make me smile!
I even found - in the box of 'things I will never use' - some googly eyes, that fitted just perfectly.

Challenges -
 CES - Male Birthday Card
Pollycraft - Purple, Green and 1 Other   ( my 'other' was black )
Top Tip Tuesday - Anything Goes

Stamp - Digi Beer Monster from Pollycraft, coloured with Copics.  DP - Cardmakers, Earth's Palette
Happy Birthday Stamp - Catslife Press       Googly Eyes and Brads from my stash.
Border Punch -  Martha Stewart.

Tag! You're It !!

I just knew it was going to be one of those days today, when, still half asleep,  I sprayed hairspray under my arms !!
NOTE TO SELF: Do not put hairspray and deodorant on the same shelf!!
Here's a little project that I finished last night. I have been wanting to make one of these cute little cases for a while, and thought it would be perfect to hold a few gift tags.

These are easy peasy to make, especially with the help of this fab tutorial by Suzanne Dean.
Can you spot my deliberate mistake?? I forgot to add the little corners!!

The tags were cut with a Sizzix die, covered with the DP and sprayed with Glimmer Mist.
Then I added a sentiment, a Penny Black hedgie, the adhesive pearls and, finally, some sparkly, silver ribbon.

I would like to enter this for the following challenges...
CES Challenge - 'Make or use a Tag'
Penny Black Saturday - 'Two or more Penny Black Images'

Stamps - Penny Black, Christmas Critters             DP - Papermania Monochrome Heather.
For the case - ribbon, pearl brads and pearls from my stash.
Tags -  Sprayed with Glimmer Mist, stamps coloured with Copics and stickles glitter. Pearls and ribbon from my stash. Sentiments from Craftwork Cards.

Baby It's Cold Outside !!

Just a quick post today - it's already taken me half an hour to try and upload these pictures!!
I even tried to do it from Picasa Web Albums, but that was all gobbledygook to me.

Here's another Christmas card to add to the pile... not very traditional, but I think it's kind of cute.

Challenges I am entering...
Sketch Saturday - Fab sketch chosen by Paula
Cupcake Craft - Happy Hour - with all Faye's talk about a tipsy hot choklit I NEED one now!!
Crafty Emma's Store - Get Ahead, Get A Hat - Do you wear hats? I love them.
I have my eye on one of those woolly ones with ear flaps and dangly bits...
hubby says I can have one.. it will be dark out in the winter, so no-one will see me !!!
:-)

This fabulous digital stamp is from Sassy Studio Designs, coloured with Copics and a glitter pen.
Design Paper is K & Co, Peppermint Twist.
Raffia lace from Bunny Zoe's Crafts
Snowflake cut with Slice (Fa La La) covered with Diamond Dust and with a brad in the centre.
Sentiment from Craftwork Cards.
Ribbon and adhesive pearls from my stash.
