DRINK MORE GIN

Hello.
I've had another rummage through my old stamps today,
and I came up with this cute, house mouse one.
I've matched it up with a fun sentiment to try and bring it more up to date.
What do you think?

Martinis are always a good idea.

This morning I came across a few House Mouse stamps.
They have been rather neglected of late, but I wanted to see if I could use them and still create a CAS card.
What do you think?
I played along at the House Mouse & Friends challenge, which is Amethyst, White + 1 other colour.

I stamped straight onto my card base, coloured the image with Copics,
and sprinkled Diamond Dust on the glass.
A couple of snippets of dp were used to add some colour, then a Pink Petticoat sentiment
and scattered bling finished everything off nicely.

Addicted to Stamps - Make Your Mark

Supplies.
Stamp - House Mouse, Olive a Party           Copics.  Glamour Dust.

We belong together

Hello there, hope those that celebrated Mother's Day this weekend had a lovely time. I managed to escape to my craft room for a while and here is one of the cards I made. It's for my Mum & Dad's Anniversary.

I am still waiting to make that 'perfect' card. I don't think it exists for me - I always make a few mistakes, but hey! I guess it all adds to the handmade look :-)
You can see here that I forgot to add the lace before stitching the card down - duh! - hence the ugly staples showing !!
I also tried a bit of embossing in the top right hand corner - it's something I rarely do and I think I over-heated it. I need more practice.

The House Mouse image is coloured with Copics and I decoupaged parts of the flower, adding it with foam pads - to give a little dimension.

Challenges.
Simon Says Stamp - A Bit 'O Green
Crafting for all Seasons - Green and Yellow
Do You Stack Up? - Favourite Colour (Green, of course :-) )
Sweet Stampin' - Lots of Green
Crafter's Companion - Spring

Supplies
House Mouse Love Sunflower Stamp, coloured with Copics and Stickles glitter.

LOTV Corner Stamp
Lace, Ribbon, Button, Gems from my stash.

Two Hearts, One Love.

I just had to join in the fab Blog Hop and challenge that's going on over at House Mouse and Friends.
They have some amazing prizes on offer and I love seeing the antics of all these little cuties.

This stamp is from the 'Love - Sunflower' set, coloured with Copics and some Glamour Dust.
I thought that, by using the 'congratulations' stamp, the card is a bit more versatile and it can go in my stash ready for an engagement, an anniversary or a wedding. What do you think?

I have seen people do this 'ruffled ribbon' style on their cards and thought I would try it out. I put a strip of DS tape where I wanted the ribbon and pleated the ribbon up as I went along. Then I was left with the pleats all sticking up!!! So, I added a piece of narrow ribbon on top to keep them flat.
Perhaps I should have researched how to do it first!!   :-) Youtube here I come!

Challenges.
House Mouse and Friends - Love theme, with more than one Heart
Cupcake Craft - Pink and Red as the main focus. (hope there's not too much green on there!)
Allsorts - Free and Easy
Crafty Calendar - Love and Marriage with Lace/Pearls as Optional Extras
Bling It On - Love is All Around

Supplies.
House Mouse Stamp - Love Sunflower.  Copics.   Glamour Dust
XCut nested Heart Dies.    Congratulations stamp from Wild Rose Studios.
DP - K & Co Classic K
Pearls and ribbon from my stash.

The Usual Suspects

Happy Bonfire Night everyone - if you're having a bonfire and fireworks have a great time and keep safe.
I am making up a little bed, in the downstairs loo, no.. not for hubby!!  - it's where the dog runs to, when she's feeling stressed!!

It's time for another challenge at the CES Challenge Blog.
It's my week to host and I haven chosen the theme...

Song or Film Inspired

It seems like a tricky challenge, but trust me, it's not that bad :-))
There are lots of options and I really hope you will join in and give it a go.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

My card was inspired by one of my favourite films - The Usual Suspects.
One of the tag lines for the film is
'Five Criminals. One Line Up. No Coincidence'
and it just so happens there are five rascals on this House Mouse stamp!!

After I stamped the image, I cut around some of the mice and the jar, then mounted it onto my DP, so that the DP became the background.
Does that make sense?? You can see from the pic what I'm trying to say..lol**

I used a 6 x 6 'on the edge' card blank, some Prima flowers, Card Candi, black gems and a Craftwork Cards Mini Message - all available at Crafty Emma's Store.
The DP is Bo Bunny, Timepiece.

Join us this week for your chance to win a £10 gift voucher
to spend in the store (excl p&p)

Micely Opening Presents

Just a quick post from me today -
I don't know what happened with this photo, I'm really disappointed with how it looks.
IRL it's very glittery and, the greys on the image and the background paper are a much better match.

I made this for the House Mouse Challenge, which is  *Sparkle on your Christmas Creations*.
There's really is lots of sparkle on here - I edged the papers with glamour dust and used silver stickles on the image.

Supplies -
DP - First Edition, Festive Treats.
House Mouse Stamp coloured with Copics and stickles.
Marianne Snowflake die with dew drops
Martha Stewart lace border punch
Glamour Dust / Silver Ribbon / Tiny Bell.

Bang goes August!

Well, that's the summer well and truly over.
I spent yesterday putting my summer dresses away and getting out my thick jumpers, woolly cardis, and knitted scarves.
I LOVE winter clothes :-)

Here's a card I made for my niece.

I used this gorgeous First Edition, Birdsong paper. You can probably just make out how pretty and glittery the background piece is.

I think this has to be one of my fav House Mouse stamps - I just love the cheeky look on that guys face as he goes to pop the balloon.

Challenges -
Papertake Weekly - A Dawny P Sketch
Pollycraft - Felt - the flowers are punched from felt.
Crafting For All Seasons - Bingo. I used the line ribbon/glitter/flowers

The best meal of the day

Morning everyone. Today is my daughter, Annabel's 21st birthday.
She grew up in the blink of an eye! :-)
I have my Totally Papercrafts card to show you,
but first I wanted you to see this little breakfast set
that I put together for Annabel and her b/f.

Who wouldn't want to start the day with a Bucks Fizz and waffles??

I made this little card to go with it,
but forgot to tuck it into the tray for the photo.
I blended a few images from the Graphics Fairy and added some glitter.

******************************************************

Now, onto this week's Totally Papercrafts challenge.
Our newest teamie Victoria is hosting,
so please stop by her blog and give her a warm welcome.
The theme is

Get Fruity

Show us some fruit on your card/project.
It can be on the image, the paper, or maybe you have some fruity embellies.

I used this House Mouse image, sent to me by the lovely Lols.

I coloured the berries as raspberries (even though I think they are meant to be blackberries!)
Then I added some glossy accents to them.

The papers are from Pink Petticoat and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Challenges
Fab 'n' Funky - 'What'eva'
Creative Inspirations - Bears/Animals
The Paper Variety - Fruity Fun

Lots of Love

Did everyone have a lovely Easter? We had a full house here and a brilliant time - AND we get to do it all again this weekend! I have a lovely 'English Tea' planned for Friday and a big family BBQ for hubby's birthday on Saturday  - Sunday can be spent nursing the hangover!!! :D)

It's my first time inking up these little mice - aren't they just adorable? I coloured them with Copics and added a little glitter to the flowers.
I found some embroidery thread the same colour as my background card, so I used it to stitch along the edge.

Hmmm... I have just noticed a little grey smudge. It's not on the card - I think it's on the inside of the camera lens, so hubby's first job tonight will be to take it apart and clean it!!   :-)

Challenges
Less is More - Off Centre.   I tried to balance the stamp being on the bottom left, by adding the sentiment to the top right. I hope it works!
Simon Says - Anything Goes and 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop
CES - Spring Colours/Images - I think the green and lemon are a pretty, spring combination.

Stamp - from the House Mouse Love, Sunflower set.
Sentiment - Wild Rose Studio, Everyday Greetings

Soggy Doggy

I finally got round to buying a blank notebook,
so I can jot down all those great sketches.
Then, when I am short of inspiration ( which is often!)
I can open it up and hopefully it will fire up my brain cells!

It would have been ideal to decorate the cover with some sort of 'crafty'stamp,
but I don't have anything like that.
Instead, I went for my new fav. stamp 'Soggy Doggy'.
I think this is so cute...
and somehow I managed to give the little mouse at the front,
a bald patch, on the back of his head....
rofl**

I'd like to enter this for the Friday Sketchers challenge,
so I have followed their sketch,
which is great for those larger stamps.

  • DP - My Mind's Eye, Pretty Please
  • Stickle glitter on the bubbles

Mint Magic

I took a tumble yesterday (no, I hadn't had a single alcoholic drink! )
so I can imagine taking a nice, warm bath in Mint Tea..
just like these little guys.
I love the expressions on their faces.

It's the first time I've used this stamp,
and I was a bit worried about colouring it,
but it turned out ok.
I wanted to make the little tag 3D, so I decoupaged it and added a bit of string,
with a staple on the tag and just pushed through the card at the top end.

I'd like to enter this for a couple of challenges
1. The great sketch over at Papertake - I do like these sketches where I can use my bigger stamps, and some of these House Mouse ones are BIG.
2. House Mouse & Friends - where the theme is **Sweet**

  • Stamp - House Mouse, We're 'Mint Tea' Be Together.
    Coloured with Copics
  • Design Paper - DCWV, Nana's Nursery Baby Girl
  • Ribbon from my stash

'Pop'-ular Fun

Morning everyone... hope you are enjoying the bank holiday. It's a wet one here, in more ways than one. We have a leaking overflow pipe, so it's a trip to the DIY store for us.
I am so excited to show you this project though..... drum roll please...
this is my very first House Mouse stamp. Isn't it gorgeous and it's a dream to colour.

This is for my daughter's birthday on Thursday. I have had this little metal peg tin for ages and decided to cover it and - shhhh, don't give it away, but I am going to fill it with some 'Lush' products for her.
I am entering my card for this fortnight's challenge at Sketch and Stamp, which is this wonderful sketch by Sem. I have just rotated the centre a little, so that my image would fit on.

Recipe
  • Stamp - House Mouse 'Pop'-ular Fun, coloured with Copics
  • DP - My Mind's Eye, Pretty Please
  • Sentiment - Craftwork Cards
  • Ribbon from my stash
Just a note about the House Mouse stamps - I bought mine from the online store Card Craft UK
It's the first time I have useed them and their communication was excellent and my delivery arrived within a couple of days.
Looking forward to inking up my other new stamps soon.
