Totally Papercrafts #54 Let's Do Digi

This week, at Totally Papercrafts, Mandi has chosen a 'DIGI' theme, for the challenge.  I love Digi's, don't you? It's great to be able to print out the exact size image that you need for your card/project.
Our sponsor for this challenge is The Creative Cottage, who do all sorts of fabulous digis, including some great co-ordinating kits.
For my project I got to play with the gorgeous Jungle Fun Kit ( thankyou Tracy xxx )

I made a little set of cards, complete with a circus wagon, to put them in.
Do you like my little wagon? I had so much fun with it, and it was very easy to make. I dug deep into my recycling stash and came up with a clear box that I cut the top off, so that the cards just drop into it.

I cut a frame for the front of the box, and used thin strips of card, to look like bars. Then I decorated the frame with the dp and CIRCUS letters.
My button tin came in handy - I jazzed up some plain black buttons for the 'wheels' and used a toggle on the handle.  The scrolls on the top were cut on my slice machine.

The cards were made from a sheet of toppers and star embellies ( all included in the kit ).I printed the toppers twice, so that I could decoupage the animals.
I haven't added any sentiments yet, because I thought these would be great as little thankyou cards, birthday cards, or even party invites.

Hope you will join the challenge this week, and don't forget to check out the fab work of fellow teamies.

Totally Papercrafts 1st Anniversary

WOW!!
Do we have a special challenge for you this week?
Totally Papercrafts is celebrating it's 1st Birthday.
A HUGE thankyou to everyone that has joined in with our challenges and supported us over the last year... we couldn't do it without ya and we loves ya!
Let's here it for my teamies too - the most fabulous bunch of girls - who work hard behind the scenes to bring you inspiration every week.

So, what do we have planned - well, we would like you to enter a card/project following our theme..

Friendship

For my project I decided to put together a little gift set for my best friend.

Before I share with you how this was made (it's easy peasy) take a look at our list of generous sponsors. There are some awesome prizes on offer - pop on over to the blog to see all the details.

********************************************************

My gift set contains a candle, notebook, bookmark, and post it note/calendar block. Everything fitted neatly into a re-cycled perfume box. I think I will add some chocs too - I can't give a gift without chocklit, can I ?
The gifts and box were all decorated with Docrafts Hanoverian DP - with ribbon and brads from the same range.
The 'Friend' sentiment is Making Memories, velvet alphabet stickers and I made the bookmark sentiment on my comp.

Challenges I would like to enter -
Papertake Weekly - Anything goes and optional flowers. My paper is flowery and I have also used a XCut punch to make some blooms and added card candy to the centre of them.
Top Tip - Anything Girlie.  Hope this is 'girlie' enough!

Totally Papercrafts #50 Add A Heart

Time again for another challenge at Totally Papercrafts, and our lovely host, Sue, has chosen the theme
Add A Heart
Hearts are a great embellie to use on all sorts of cards - birthday, anniversary, wedding and, of course, with Valentine's Day just a few weeks away, you could make a card for that special someone!
Our sponsor this week is Lili of the Valley  - I just love their cute stamps - and the prize for one lucky winner will be 2 stamps of their choice.

I have used their adorable wedding couple stamp - coloured with Copics and, with invisible thread, I stitched some little beads to the wedding outfit and flowers.
I found the hearts at the bottom of my craft box and covered one with some very fine Art Institute glitter. IRL this glitter is GORGEOUS. I wonder if they sell it by the bucket load!!
Don't look too closely at the stitching -my sewing machine decided to throw a wobbly!! I have tried to cover the worst of it up.

Challenges -
Cupcake - Weddings               Pollycraft - Pastels
Papertake - Ribbon and Pearls                  Top Tip - All Sentimental
Simon Says Stamp - Bingo ( Gems, Glitter, Ribbon )

*******************************************************
Sentiment Stamp - from the Whiff of Joy, Aladin 2001 Nights Collection.   DP - Papermania, Blueberry Hill.  Fancy corner - Sizzix Die, Architectural Accents. Heart charm from the Hobby House. Lace, pearls and ribbon from my stash.

Totally Papercrafts #49 Happy Birthday

Hello everyone, my teamie Lols has chosen a nice easy theme for you at Totally Papercrafts this week...

Happy Birthday

A great excuse to get a head start on your stack of birthday cards. This year the fabulous Meljen's Designs will be sponsoring us once a month, starting with this challenge, and the lucky winner will get to choose 4 digi images.

Are you one of those crazy people who sends cards to your pets???? This year Suzie had her own little pile of presents under the tree, so I thought.. why not a birthday card!!!   I know....   I need to get out more!!!   ;-)

I used the cute Bulldog's Bear digi, from Meljen's Designs - coloured with Copics and 3D'd. I kept the design of the card pretty simple, to show off the gorgeous Basic Grey, Max and Whispers DP.
For the pooch in your life I added some doggy treats, tied on with string - and the little bone and 'I love dogs' embellies are buttons.

Totally Papercrafts #47 'Time to Party'

'Tis the season to PARTY
so head on over to Totally Papercrafts and enter our last challenge of the year, where the theme is 'Time to Party' ,
chosen by the fabulous Ria.

Our sponsor this week is the Secret Crafter and one lucky winner will
get to choose 3 of their wonderful Digi Images.
(entries must be in by 8pm Jan 6th)
Please don't forget to check out the amazing cards from my teamies.

As soon as I saw the 'party' theme I knew I wanted to use this tequila girl from Bugaboo and, because a girl can't go to a christmas party without a bit of glitz, I added some fine pink glitter to her dress.

Digi Stamp - Bugaboo, JJTequila and Shoes, coloured with Copics.
Design Paper - Kaiser Craft - La Di Da.     Fine Glitter is making Memories Shimmer.     'Party' was die cut with Sizzix, Bug in a Rug Alphabet.    Streamers were cut on my Slice, 'Parties' design card.

Totally Papercrafts #42 Black and Purple

How far can you throw an Epsom printer? I am seriously thinking of hurling mine down the street. It seems to have a mind of it's own at the moment. Hubby says that screaming at it won't get me anywhere - but I find it helps!! :-))
Well, 'tis Friday today and that means another challenge over at Totally Papercrafts. Our fabulous host this week is Tammy and she has chosen the theme of...
Black and Purple

Visit the blog to see the wonderful prize on offer this week, from Mandi Moore and check out the gorgeous creations from my teamies.
Here's my card....

This is the cute Party Edwin from Magnolia, who doesn't get out nearly as much as he ought to! He's coloured with Copics and a little stickles glitter.
I used  liquid pearls (platinum)  for the dots on the black card. The sentiment was cut on my Slice machine (Parties Design Card). DP is Papermania Capsule Collection, Heather and Mono. Ribbon is from my stash and I coloured the adhesive pearls black with a Copic.

Totally Papercrafts #41 Tag It !

I am dazzled, I tells ya !! You gals certainly love your 'sparkle'' - we had a fab response to our 'bling it on' challenge last week. Thanks to everyone who joined in - check out the Totally Papercrafts blog to see who the lucky winner is.
This week our host is the wonderful Anne, and her chosen theme is

'Tag It'

There are lots of different things you can do for this challenge - make a gift tag, a christmas tag, or add a tag to a card. Check out the awesome work of my teamies - guaranteed to get your mojo flowing!!
Here's my project - a little set of Christmas gift tags.

This started out life as a 'matchmakers chocolate' box. Don't you just love it when you have to eat the contents of a box, just so you can use it for something else!!
I used green card to make some dividers, so that my tags would sit in nicely,  then I covered the box with DP and added the cute 'Coco and Presents' stamp, from this week's challenge sponsor Digi Stamp Boutique

Don't look too closely at the tags - I cut them with my Slice machine, which can have a mind of it's own sometimes! It doesn't seem to have cut properly on the right hand side.
Anyhoo, I inked the edges, added some embellies and threw some glitter around in the hope that no-one would notice the mis-shapes!

Stamp - Coco and Presents, Digi Stamp Boutique, I paper-pieced the sledge and coloured the rest with Copics and stickles glitter.
DP - K & Co Peppermint Twist, which also contained the die cuts I used on the tags.
Slice machine - Fa La La Design.

Totally Papercrafts #39 Stick A Number On It !

***  Happy Birthday to Joey ***

She hits the big 30 at the end of the month, so her theme for this week's Totally Papercrafts Challenge is

'STICK A NUMBER ON IT'
Joey is also offering some scrummy Birthday Blog Candy,  so check out her blog for details.
Here's my project - I made an Easel Card Calendar with a drawer underneath.
Don't forget to check out the fab work of the DT.

For the drawer box I followed Holly's great tutorial, over at Splitcoaststampers.  Then just added an easel card to the top.  Don't you just love this image and the quote - it's from our sponsors this week - Bugaboo.
Check out their digi stamps, they have something for everyone -  cutesy stuff,  to my fav,  'ladies with attitude'.
I used the gorgeous papers from Kaiser Craft - La Di Da - that pink stripe is flocked, so it has a lovely texture to it.

Digi Stamp - Bugaboo, MStellaTid Morning Smile, coloured with Copics.
DP - Kaiser Craft, La Di Da      Large Fabric Brad, coloured with a Copic to match the paper.
Ribbon and Mini Calendar from my stash.

Totally Papercrafts #38 Autumn

Is it Friday again already??   Then it's time for another challenge at Totally Papercrafts.
This week the fabulous Sue is hosting our challenge and she has picked the theme of 'Autumn'.
I don't know what it's like in your part of the world, but Autumn has well and truly arrived here in Yorkshire.
The temperature has dropped and the leaves are falling from the trees. I love this time of year and  I can't wait to see all your 'Autumn' projects.
We have some wonderful new DT members too - so please pop by their blogs and say hello to

I decided to go with Autumn colours and try my hand at a 'shaker' card.

I knew I had a couple of plastic, coaster kits, left over from my cross-stitching days. It took a lot of rummaging and a little swearing, before I finally found them. I put a good amount of 'autumn' coloured seed beads into the coaster, then my coloured image and then snapped the back into place. I used Glossy Accents to stick the coaster to a piece of scalloped card.

I like the way that Heidi and Madison look as though are knee deep in beads... kind of like standing in a heap of leaves!

The DP is Basic Grey, Max and Whiskers. Stamp - High Hopes, Heidi and Madison, coloured with Copics.
The corners were cut with my Slice - Parties Card and the banner with the Slice 'Pink' Card.
Banner text is a Personal Impressions stamp.   Beads and Ribbon from my stash.

Hope that you will find time to join in our challenge and have some fun.    xxx

Totally Papercrafts #37 Buttons and Bows

Morning everyone... another week has whizzed by and it's time for a new challenge at
Totally PaperCrafts. We had a fab response to last week's 'Great Outdoors' theme, so I can't wait to see all your cards and projects for this week.  Lorraine is our wonderful host, and she has chosen...
"Buttons and Bows"
Time to rummage through all your ribbons and cut the buttons from any old clothes you have!!

Our sponsor this week is Squigglefly, and I have used one of their shy bears digital images - aren't they adorable? I 3D'd this cute little guy, layering up his paws, nose and the present, and then coloured him with Copics. I added plenty of blooms, some shop bought and some punched out of card and added buttons in the centres.
I even got my hands on my Mum's button tin!! Oh what a treat it was when I was little, to be allowed to play with all the buttons and sparkly bits and pieces in that tin. I'm sure that's where my love for shiny things comes from!!   :-)

Stamp - Squigglefly Shy Bear Birthday Bear.     Design Paper - Webster's Pages
Blooms from my stash and made with a XCut punch     Sentiment - Craftwork Cards
Ribbon and buttons from my stash.

Totally Papercrafts #36 The Great Outdoors

Morning everyone...
can you believe it's OCTOBER!!! Wow! What happened to September?
I think I lost a week, or two!!

It's time for another challenge over at Totally Papercrafts -
(thanks to everyone who joined in with the 'magic' last week)
our host today is Emma and the theme is...

THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Lots of scope for you to have fun with this one,
and if you need inspiration check out the fab work of my teamies.

Here's my card, using the cute picnic ants image from our sponsor
Digital Delights.

I used some gorgeous DP from Kaiser Craft called La Di Da.
The strip at the bottom with the flowers is so pretty, you can just make out that it's all glittery.
From this picture it looks like the image is layered onto black card,
but I used my nesties to make a frame and the picture is underneath,
so in real life it has a more 3D look.

Stamp - Digital Delights, Ants Picnic, coloured with Copics.
DP - Kaisercraft, La Di Da
Butterfly Sentiment and Card Candy - Craftwork Cards.
Ribbon from my stash.

Totally Papercrafts #34 Happy Birthday

You lot definitely went 'dotty' last week.
Over at Totally Papercrafts we had a fabulous number of entries to the challenge -
pop over to the blog to see who the lucky winner is.

so we are hoping to see a record number of entries.
:-)
The DT have put together a fantastic selection of cards to inspire you, so check them out and
if you have time take a nosey around their wonderful blogs.
Here's my card - using an image from this week's sponsor - Digi Doodle Shop

I kept  it pretty plain and simple, so that the car would be the focus. I just love these classic cars -
well, I have to say that, as my hubby's first love is his '68 Mustang!
This is Digi Doodle T-bird, coloured with copics ( my ONE dark, red!) The DP is Memory Box 'Spiceberry'
and the sentiment is a Catslife Press stamp.          Ribbon from my stash. Adhesive pearls were coloured black with a Copic.

Totally Papercrafts #33 Let's Go Dotty

We had lots of  'Charming'  entries over at Totally Papercrafts last week,
pop on over to the blog and see who the lucky winner was
and who I chose for the Top 3.
I am hosting this week's challenge and it's one that everyone will be able to join in -
the theme is
'Let's go Dotty'

I'd like to see dots on papers, dots on stamps, dots on ribbons.
Embossed dots, glitter dots and glossy dots.
You can go crazy, or just add a few!

Check out the fabulous work of my teamies,
and if you visit their blogs, comments are always welcome.

Here's my project...
a dotty birthday card and a box of chocolate, dotty cupcakes!!

The cupcake box and cases came from Sainsbury's - I just covered the box with Pink Petticoat's Digi Papers  - in blueberry. I added a die cut card, stamped the text and put a bloom in the corner.

For the card, I used the same dotty digi paper. I masked my cupcake stamps and also paper-pieced the cases. I added a little, green die cut tag, and an 'it's your birthday' stamp.

Digi Paper - Pink Petticoat 'Big dots little dots'
Die cuts and paper for the paper-pieced cupcake cases - Kaiser Craft La Di Da
Cupcakes, 'treat yourself' and 'celebrate' stamps - Simon Says Stamp, Savor Sweet Cupcakes
It's your Birthday stamp - Cat's life Press.

PS - the cupcakes were yummy!!!   lol**

Totally Papercrafts #32 Charming

Morning everyone..
lots of you will be on the final days of the summer hols this weekend.
Hooray!!!
Time to get those last minute uniforms sorted and
put your child's name into everything they posess!!
And, it's also time for a new challenge over at

This week, the lovely Joanne has chosen the theme of

''Charming''

We want to see your card or project with an added charm.
These are readily available from most craft stores now -
or maybe you know how to make your own!
!
Pop on over to the challenge blog to see the fab work of my teamies,
and if you stop by their blogs,
don't forget to leave them a lovely comment.

Here's my card -
using a cute image from this week's sponsors -

I have a stack of these cards (152mm x 104mm )
that I find a bit too small, so to create a more workable area
I have added an extra piece of card to the top of them.
My image is coloured with Copics
and the mushroom is dabbed with liquid pearls.

The heart charms were in my local craft shop, in the jewellery section,
I used split rings to add them to a  straighter piece (don't know what that's called!)
then threaded it with little beads.
I have rescued a little pair of round nose pliars from my dh's toolbox,
for these fiddly jobs!!!
I will give them a much better home.
:-)

Digital Stamp - 'Ratiny's Mushroom Home Soft Pencil Digis
DP - Kaiser Craft La-Di-Da
Huge thankyou to Faye who sent me this gorgeous paper pad as part
of a blog candy prize.

Totally Papercrafts #31 Keep It Plain & Simple

Morning everyone,
it's time for another challenge at
Totally Papercrafts
and this week our host is the lovely Anne.
The theme Anne has chosen this week is

*Keep It Plain & Simple*

Now, you might think that, going from the name of my blog,
this would be a doddle of a challenge for me.
Not so... I struggle with simple, elegant cards
and my blog title is really a reminder to me to
step away from the embellies!!
So, I can't wait to see all your entries showing me how it's done.
:-)

Here's my card - as plain as I could make it.
I so wanted to add some black pearls here and there,
but managed to stop myself...lol**

The stamps I used are from an Impression Obsession set
that I chose as part of a recent Simon Says challenge win.
Simon Says are our challenge sponsors this week
and they have so many delicious goodies
that you don't want to  miss out on the chance to get your hands on some.
So head on over to the blog, check out the brilliant work of my teamies
and leave your entry with the blue froggy!!!

Recipe -
Stamp - Impression Obsession
DP - Papermania Capsule Collection, Mono.
Ribbon from my stash.

Totally Papercrafts #30 Summer Fun

Wow!
Loving all your 'Rainbow' cards from last week's
Check with the blog to see who the lucky winner was.

This week our host is Mel and she has chosen the theme of
'Summer Fun'

Well,  we haven't seen much sun in Yorkshire recently,
so I wanted to make my card reflect this and
stay away from those bright sunny colours.
So, even though this is more subdued, I hope it still conveys 'Summer Fun'.

To go with my 'Dude' card I made a little 'Surf Shack'
all ready to fill with chocolate goodies!

My 'Surf Shack' started out life as a tea bag box!
I covered it with Basic Grey DP,
Added a little door with a brad for a handle.
Propped up some surf boards on the front,
and also added some to my computer generated 'Surf Shack' sign, on the top.
I am going to fill my shack with Heroes -
they're  kind of  'guy' chocolates aren't they?

The 'surfer boy' image I used is from this week's sponsor
Squigglefly.
I paper pieced his clothes and the surf boards,
(Design Paper is Basic Grey, Granola)
and coloured the rest of him with Copics.
Then I finished off with some buttons and a small clip.

Totally Papercrafts #28 By The Sea

Morning everyone..
It's Friday again, so that means a new challenge at
This week the lovely Sue has chosen the theme of
'BY THE SEA'
We want to see the ocean and mermaids, beaches and boats..
or, of course anything else that fits the theme.

We are being sponsored by AI Factory and they will be offering
one lucky winner $10 to spend in their store.
Check out the awesome DT work if you need some inspiration
and leave us a comment so we know you called by.

Here is my card, using digi stamps from the AI Factory.

I used round nesties to cut out a frame for the 'porthole',
adding small brads around the edge.
Then I placed this over my water scene and added the mermaid on top,
with foam pads.

Stamps - Ella Under The Sea Set, coloured with copics and stickles glitter.
Design Paper - Papermania Capsule Collection Aqua
Papermania adhesive shimmer dots.
Sentiment made on my comp.
Martha Stewart lace border punch.

Totally Papercrafts #26 Feeling Fruity

TGI Friday....  :-)
and time for a new Totally PaperCraft's Challenge.
Thanks to everyone who joined in with last week's recipe..
please check the blog to see if you were a winner.

This week's theme has been chosen by Emma,
with Lols hosting the challenge.
The theme is

FEELIN' FRUITY

Our generous sponsor this week is Mandi
who is a Stampin Up Demonstrator.

Please visit our fabulous DT ladies to get some inspiration,
and if you'd like to leave a comment we all love hearing from you.

For my 'fruity' project I decided on a picnic caddy..
full of yummy treats, for my girls.
I know they're in their 20's but
you're never too old for sweeties!!
:-)

For the picnic caddy I followed the brilliant, step-by-step tutorial,
by Katie of Clearly iStamp
I just changed the handle, because I don't have a large punch.
I used an oval nestie instead..
and then used the oval nestie with a slightly larger scalloped one,
to cut a little frame from the DP.

Here's a pic of what the caddy will look like
10 mins after the girls get their hands on it..
lol***

Design Paper and strawberry motif -  My Mind's Eye Summer
(free in a magazine)
I made the text on my computer.
Sweeties -  Sainsburys   lol***

Totally Papercrafts #25 Recipe

You sure like your 'swirls and pearls' ladies,
and we had a great response to last week's challenge,
pop on over to the blog to see if you were the lucky winner,
or were voted in the Top 3.

This week at Totally Papercrafts the challenge has been chosen by Carol,
and the theme is a Recipe.
1 IMAGE - 1 RIBBON - 2 PAPERS - 3 EMBELLIES

We are sponsored by Soft Pencil Digital Stamps
and the DT got to play with some of their cute images this week,
so check them out.

Here is my card using the image 'Molly in Spring'

I made a stair step card,
following the great instructions from Beate at Splitcoaststampers.
My image was coloured with Copics, and I paper-pieced her dress.
I kind of stretched the 3 embellies rule a bit :-)
1 -the blooms
2 - the gems in the centre of the blooms
and 3 - the flowers in her ponytails.

Design Paper is Papermania 'Blueberry Hill'
Happy Birthday stamp from Papermania 'Stamping for Him'

Totally Papercrafts #24 Swirls and Pearls

Morning everyone.
It was my first time hosting the Totally Papercrafts challenge last week,
and I want to say a huge thankyou to everyone who entered.
We had an amazing amount of entries,
so make sure you check out the blog to see if you were the lucky winner.

This week's host is the lovely Joanne,
and she has chosen the theme of

'SWIRLS AND PEARLS'

Our sponsor for the week is
Squigglefly
and the winner will get to choose 3 of their gorgeous images.

Check out the blog for some inspiration from our lovely DT.

When I saw the Squigglefly image
Shybear - beary-go-round,
I knew that I wanted to make a carousel.
Easier said than done..
There was lots of swearing during the making of this project!!
lol**

Below is a picture of the basic items I started with...
I used the cheese triangles box as the base,
wrapping ribbon round an old felt tip pen for the centre,
and round 3 skewers for the poles.
I stuck my coloured image to the poles with tape.

The roof was much trickier..
I made a cone shape from card and added some smaller cones at the top.
For the edging, I cut a long thin strip of scalloped edged card,
then cut tabs half way into it and stuck it round the inside of the cone.
Finishing it off with some coloured adhesive pearls.

I have to hold my hands up and say
the poles are all stuck to the roof with blue tack!!!

I didn't want shy bear hiding behind all the horses,
so I trimmed him off 2 of them.
They are all coloured with Copics and stickles glitter.

Design Paper is My Mind's Eye - Magnolia
To finish the carousel off, I cut out a little flag,
glued it to a cocktail stick and stuck it in the roof.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
