Dream in Blue

Ok you guys, you can all have a laugh at me.
I tried three times to emboss this chandelier,
before I discovered that I'm using the wrong ink.
I need slow drying pigment ink.
Duh! I told you I was new to this inky stuff.

I played along at Seize the Sketch
The hardest part of this whole card was the little banner.
The white pieces were die cut, but I had to cut the blue card freehand.
Top of my list is a new, all singing, all dancing banner die.

As you can see below, the chandelier and little bird
are die cut and popped up on foam pads.

If anyone can recommend a cheap set of inks that work
for embossing, that would be great.

Challenges.
Deep Ocean Blue - Birthday
Shopping Our Stash - Winter Blue

Supplies
Hero Arts Chandeliers Stamps and Dies     Memento Inks - Summer Sky, New Sprout
Whimsy Stamps - Circle Postmarks           Gems. Pennant Die, Embroidery Thread.

I found my family in a book

1, 2, 3, and I'm back in the room...
Despite my mojo struggling to get out, I have finally made a simple card.
To make it easy for myself, I stuck with my favourite paper and colours
(hmmm... will grey and orange work for Christmas cards?)  ;-)

This is for my friend, Debs.
She reads anything and everything, so I thought this little Gorjuss girl,
"I found my family in a book"  would be perfect.
I used  grey ink for my sentiment, to make it look more washed out and the little heart embellie is
actually a house die from Clearly Besotted.
I just coloured the heart orange and popped it back in the die cut.

 Challenges.
Sentimental Sundays - Happy Birthday
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
Papertake - Anything Goes (with Optional Christmas Theme)
ABC - U for Unlimited (Anything Goes)
Simon Says - Anything Goes
Love Rubber Stamps - Anything Goes

DP - DDE Digitally Smitten.   Stamp - Simply Gorjuss 'I found my family in a book'.   Copics.

Cool Dude

Hooray - it's the weekend!
Hope you're all having a good one.
I am sat in the warm, waiting for the snow to arrive.
Mr Kiss is clutching the bright, red sledge that our dd bought him for Christmas - so an afternoon in casualty is on the cards!!!

For this card I had fun playing on my computer.
The background gingham is a digi paper from Pink Petticoat and I know it's hard to make out, but I digitally distressed it.
Then I added a die cut fence (Cheery Lynn) and my image, popped up on foam pads.

The cute stamp is a digi from Whimsie Doodles (Hoodie Jayson).
His Hoodie is filled with apple digi paper from Pink Petticoat and the rest is coloured with Copics.
The sentiment stamps are from Whimsy Stamps

Challenges.
Charisma Cardz - Congrats on their 4th Birthday. Their theme is Birthdays and if you add a 4 to your project you will be entered into the pot 4 times.

I {heart} my dog!

Just a quick post from me today, as I am busy working.
Over at Totally Papercrafts, our lovely Sue wants you to have a giggle this week. So join in with our humour theme and see if you can make us laugh.

I kept this card pretty simple, and added my quote to a tag, that tucks easily into a pocket behind the main image.

Our sponsors this week are Whimsy Stamps who do a great range of digi and rubber stamps. This little sentiment in the top right is from their Circle Postmark set.

Paper Chain People

EEK! Friday came around quickly didn't it?
This is a scheduled post from me, as I will be on my way to my first day in my new job!!

We have another great challenge for you at Totally Papercrafts.  The lovely Linda is our host and she is a ribbon hoarder :-)  so she has chosen the theme...

Ribbons and/or Bows

I love ribbon - and I always think that it makes a card a little bit special. A simple strip with a bow can be the perfect embellie, but if you feel like doing something more creative we'd love to see that too. Have fun!

I kept my layout pretty simple, as I wanted to concentrate on colouring this gorjuss girl. She is called ' I found my family in a book' - isn't that the cutest name?

Supplies.
DP - Prima, Madeline
Stamp - Gorjuss 'I found my family in a book', coloured with Copics.
Spellbinders Nesties -  lacey circles and  pennants.
Whimsy Sentiments Stamp.
Gems coloured with Copic to match her dress. Ribbon from my stash.

Vintage Bear

I have fallen in love with TeddyBo & Co images -
they are just so adorably cute, without being too fluffy and frilly -  if that makes sense!!
AND they are digis - so I can play around with the size of them.

I printed out this Teddy Bea twice, using the second image to decoupage her arms and letter, with foam pads.
She is coloured with Copics and a sprinkling of my favourite Glamour Dust.

Sorry about this fuzzy picture(below),  but you can just make out how 'popped up' her arms are.

I am entering her into the following challenges -
Sketch & Stash - I just rotated Angie's fabulous sketch and this is my new Teddy Bea image.
Cupcake - Buttons and Bows
Stamptacular - You Choose!
Crafty Cardmakers - Cute with a Dark Twist. I took the 'dark' part literally and used black card and ribbon, as opposed to making it 'halloweenie'. Hope this qualifies!
Make it Monday - Linky Party

Supplies - Digi Stamp Teddy Bea from Teddy Bo & Co. coloured witb Copics and Glamour Dust
DP - Prima Printery / Sentiment Stamp, Whimsy Circle Postmark Collection/
Martha Stewart Border Punch.  Ribbon, pearls and button from my stash.

What a great excuse for me ink up my brand new stamp -

I think it's 'cos I really want to do it justice!

New Baby Boy

Mad, crazy friends of ours are having another baby ( their 3rd ) due in the next couple of weeks.
Hubby said - "it's definitely a boy."   "Well, I think it is... maybe...  it might not be though!!"
So - if it turns out to be a little girl I will have to dash for the pink papers!!

I saw this cute little baby carriage and just HAD to make one.
I downloaded Niki's excellent template - here
I haven't filled mine yet - I need a trip to the sweetie shop -
but I thought a little bag of blue, sugared almonds would be perfect.

For the card I followed the great sketch by Paola,
over at A Spoon Full of Sugar.

Gone fishing

Give a man a fish.... feed him for the day.
Teach a man to fish... get rid of him for the weekend!!!
:-)

I just love this 'Great Day to Fish' digital stamp
from Whimsy.
How cute are those two guys together?
I coloured with Copics, 3D'd the characters,
and added some black thread for the fishing line.
The little sign is also Whimsy,
stuck on with foam pads.

I would like to enter my card for this week's
Stamp Something Challenge,
where the theme is
'Something Digital'.
They have some fabulous sponsors this week,
so join in if you can.

Lazy Summer Days

What I love about warm, lazy, summer days
is sitting outside, in the swingchair with a good book.
So, I thought it would be nice to include a summer
bookmark with my pocket card.

I covered my card with the DP
and then made a simple pocket.
No scoring and folding..
I just added my DP to the pink card and
then attached it to my main card,
along three sides, with stitching.
This left the opening along the top edge.

I used the Whimsy digital garden fence,
and Tilda, who was stuck on with foam squares,
for that 3D look.
I also paper-pieced Tilda's dress and added some stickles glitter.

For the bookmark I sandwiched together
2 pieces of card, 1 of DP and
a piece of ribbon.
Then stitched around the edge.
The bird motif came with the DP
and I made the text on my comp.

I would like to enter my card for this week's
Pink Elephant Challenge, where the theme is
Pocket Cards.
Whimsy Digital Stamp 'Garden Fence' and Magnolia - Tilda with Flower,
coloured with Copics and stickles glitter.
Design Paper - and bird motif (on bookmark) My Mind's Eye 'Summer Papers' free with Cardmaking and Papercrafts magazine.
Text - made on my comp. Ribbon from my stash.

Sending Donkey Smiles

There is a special event over at A Spoon Full of Sugar this week.
They are hosting a 'Kickin' it for Michelle' card drive and would like you to create a card dedicated to Michelle and mail it off to her.
Michelle - one of their DT members - had an accident a few weeks ago, which has left her with the loss of her right eye.

Whimsy Stamps have made this fabulous donkey image and sentiments
that you can dowload for free, to use on your card/project.
And, Spoon Full of Sugar have some amazingly generous sponsors, supporting this card drive.

I hope Michelle's postman has to carry cards by the sackful to her,
and that they help to cheer her up and let her know that we are all thinking of her.

Digital Stamps - Whimsy Stamps - Sweet Little Donkey,
coloured with Copics and Stickles glitter.
Design Paper - My Mind's Eye - Pretty Please
