Hello.
Here I am with another card for my Guest Designer Spot at the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge

As usual, Simon Says are offering a generous $50 voucher to the challenge winner,
so play along, and you could be filling your basket with goodies from their store.

Here's my card for this week's challenge,
where the theme is

ADD A SENTIMENT

This week the team are showcasing Impression Obsession stamps.
Pop on over to the blog and check out their fabulous work.

Unfortunately I don't have any of their stamps -
something I really need to remedy -
so I dug around in my stash and came up with this pretty sentiment
from MFT together forever.

Remember a few years ago, when this chalkboard technique was all the rage.
I decided to resurrect it!
I cheated a bit, by starting off with dark grey card, which I stamped
my sentiment on and heat embossed it in white.
Then I sponged on some white and black chalk to get that 'just wiped' board look.

This was my second attempt at water colouring those gorgeous
modern anemones from WPlus9,
with distress inks in spun sugar, pickled raspberry, scattered straw and
mowed lawn.

I resisted water colouring for a long time, cos I am so NOT 'arty',
but I am amazed with what I managed to do.
So, if you haven't tried it yet - give it a go - and let me know how you get on.

I arranged my blooms and leaves, popped up on foam tape,
onto an MFT stitched scalloped edge rectangle.

This is luscious, Caroline - you've inspired me to dig out these gorgeous flowers and have a play with them again. And what a perfect sentiment! Great idea to use actual chalk for your blackboard effect!

Caroline for someone who's a self-professed "not arty" card maker, you sure could have fooled me! Awesome card. I always loved the blackboard technique and even if you started off with basic gray, your end result is fabulous. Love the anemone's and the beautiful framelits you used. Great card!

LOVE that chalkboard effect, I'm going to CASE you on that if thats ok! And you water coloured those flowers beautifully! I just started water colouring myself and I am crazy about it, if only my outcome was as great as my enthusiasm though :)) Thanks for sharing.
