Mojo Monday Week 73

Over at Mojo Monday
this week's challenge is a really great sketch.
You have a whole week to get your project in,
and that's plenty of time to check out the lovely designs from the Mojo Makers
and the other participants.

Here is my 21st card.
The papers I used were freebies from a card magazine,
ribbon was from Poppicrafts,
with embellishments from my stash.
The cute little mouse stamp is from the Penny Black - Bubbly set,
coloured with Whispers Pens

Gingham Bags

Here's what I have been up to this weekend.

I have made four of these pretty, gingham shoulder bags.
I am really pleased with them.
It's been ages since I did any sewing and I just had one, ready-made bag to try and copy.

So, what are these bags for?
Well, after surgery for breast cancer,
some people will have a plastic tube sewn into place,
which drains any fluid which might accumulate, into a small drainage bag.
As you can imagine this can be quite uncomfortable and awkward.
Putting the drainage bag into one of these little cloth bags,
that go over your head,
just helps to support it and allows you move around a bit easier.
Lets face it.. it also looks a lot nicer.

So these bags are going to the local hospital.

Snow Fun

No crafting today,
but I just couldn't resist showing you the picture
of my little Suzie
enjoying herself in the snow.
It's a winter wonderland to her and she can't wait to get out there and
chase snowballs, as I get dressed up like the michelin man.

Mojo Monday

Hello,
since the snowfall has virtually ground the country to a halt
there was nothing for it today, but to stay indoors. and keep warm.
I have been blog-hopping all over the place and have discovered a sketch challenge blog called Mojo Monday.
I have had a go at their latest sketch challenge No. 72.
It's great that they also allow you to download all their previous, fabulous sketches for 2009
Pop on over there - the challenge is open until Mon Feb 9th -
and don't forget to check out the amazing creations from their Mojo Makers.
The cute stamp is from Penny Black Fresh New Day -
coloured with Whispers pens,
and I used various scraps of paper from my stash.

Creative Inspirations Challenge

Hello,
there is a great new challenge blog just started over at
So have a look over there and check out their very first challenge.
You must make a Valentine project - a card, atc, scrapboook page, etc.
BUT, it must contain the colour black.

I thought I would try something a bit different with this challenge
and I ended up making an Accordian Card.
The papers and sayings all came from
issue 54 of Simply Cards & Papercraft magazine.
You can't really make it out on the photo, but the papers are all stitched onto the card.
Then I used various embellishments and ribbon from my stash.
Here's how the card looks folded up...

"Frame It"

"Frame It" is this week's challenge over at
To enter, your design must feature a frame, and, of course,
a penny black stamp.
The sweet, little stamp is from the clear set - Bubbly.
This would be great to use on a little Valentine card, wouldn't it?
I made the frame with my Spellbinders Nestabilities - Labels One.
Check out the great deal they have for nestability dies over at
The paper is Papermania - Rich Red.

Pink Petticoat Trio

I wanted to share with you a trio of cards that I have made today.
I have just discovered the gorgeous work at Pink Petticoat
The incredibly cute downloads caught my eye, but there are also papers and sentiments to download and CD's to buy.
I have used the downloads for Lola Rose ~ 'you make me feel bubbly'
at just £2.99 for the zip kit of 6 images.
I have a feeling I will be going back for more before too long.

Sketch Saturday Challenge

Hello,
I've just discovered Sketch Saturday and had a go at this week's great sketch by Jo.
I really enjoyed doing this one, so hop over there and have a look at the gorgeous cards made by the design team.
I decided this was going to be a Father's Day Card,
but I got so engrosed in it, I ended up adding Happy Birthday by mistake!!
The cute little stamp is one of the Penny Black - Bubbly set.
The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards, as are the little brown dots -
they call these Card Candy and they come in all sorts of colours,
they are the perfect size to be fixed with little foam squares
and they look really effective.
The ribbon is from my blog candy win over at Raspberry Ribbons. Their little tins full of ribbon and embellishments are a really great idea.

Papertake Weekly Challenge

Hello,
I've had a go at Dawny's Sketch #6,
over at Papertake Weekly Challenge
Have a look at the DT cards there, they are so cute.
I have used a Penny Black Bubbles stamp and added some little adhesive pearls (from Papermania )
and Stickles glitter, to the bubbles.
I am so jealous of those people who can take great photos of their cards,
it takes me forever to get a picture worth posting and the colours look a bit washed out.
Let me know if you have any photo tips.

Thursday, 8 January 2009

Hello,
Happy New Year to everyone, hope you have had a lovely holiday time.

I was delighted to find out that I won the blog candy from Raspberry Ribbons Kits & Sketches (thankyou Caroline and Kerry),
so I headed over there again to try their Sketch 12 Challenge.
They have some great designers on their blog, to give you inspiration and whilst you're there check out their new January subscription kit in black and white.

This card is for my daughter's boyfriend, and the Woodware Clear Magic Playtime stamp is so cute. They come in a set with a boy on a bike and a boy playing with a ball, plus a rucksack, a dog, a ball etc. They're good value for money,
I got mine from Handy Hippo

The sentiment is from Craftworkcards
