Hello.
I'm still happily playing with my pig stamps,
and finding them to be much easier to colour than I first thought.
Here's my latest card using them.
You may have noticed, that I have an addiction - my scalloped-edge, rectangle dies.
They have been on every card I make, for a while now.
It might be time to wean myself off them :-)
So, here I've used the die-namic sentiment strip die instead.

SWEET
Hello
Today I'm sharing a quick and simple card with you
and I'm combining a couple of challenge themes -
'icing' at CASology and 'smile' at Addicted to CAS.
My pig was stamped, die-cut and then coloured with Copics.
I gave him a couple of party cupcakes to hold and a bow tie to wear,
all popped up on foam pads for a little dimension.

Sow Cute
Hello.
It was my daughter Maria's birthday this week.
28 !! Eek! That makes me feel old.
I made her this interactive card, with a secret message.
I love the idea of being able to put a secret message behind the zipper die.
Of course, you don't know if you've lined it up perfectly, until the strip is torn off,
but I was assured that it worked perfectly.
I used some scrap card below, to give you an example of how it works.

NO PIG, NO PARTY
Hello.
Is it the weekend yet?
It's a lovely, sunny afternoon here and I have a bottle of Prosecco calling me :-)
First, I'm sharing a fun card with you.
I have no idea what 'No Pig, No Party' means, but I saw it on Pinterest and liked it. Ha ha!
This was a simple card to make.
I started with my scalloped edge die-cut and added an inky background,
with water splashes.
The piggy and flower were die-cut, coloured with Copics and popped up on foam pads.
So often I mess up my work, when I try and stamp a sentiment directly onto it,
so this time I opted for the text on a separate piece of card.
Then, as it's a party, I added a die cut balloon too.
Oh, and a scattering of sequins :-)

BLUE MAGIC
Hello.
I'm not sure about this card.
It was one of those that looked so much better in my head.
Anyway - it's another one for the pile :-)
I took my inspiration from SonjaK's card at the Muse challenge -
focusing on the blue flowers, stitched edging and scattered sequins.
These blooms stamp a solid colour, but for something different I tried to
add some Copic shading.
Hmmm... that's something I need to practice.

MUM
Hello.
Today is Mother's Day, here in the UK and here's the card I made for my Mum.
Without a doubt, this is the trickiest card of the year for me -
it's the dreaded flowers :-)
I was so happy to have this floral stamp set though -
the one step, coloured blooms make it so much easier for me.
I used various inks to stamp my blooms and added a little pencil colouring for shading,
which doesn't show up too well on the photo.
Then I layered them with foam pads, so the card has lots of dimension.
The sentiment is die-cut, partly inked and sprinkled with glamour dust -
gotta have a bit of sparkle somewhere :-)
Hope all you mums out there have a fabulous Mother's Day xxx

OH JOY
Hello.
I was looking around at new stamp releases, when these cute piggys caught my eye
and here's my first card using them.
I was a little worried about colouring them, it's not my strong suit,
but they turned out to be easier than I thought.
This was a very simple make.
I took a piece of card and added a couple of distress inks and some water splashes.
This was attached with foam pads to my scalloped-edge rectangle base.
Then I die cut my elements, coloured them with Copics and arranged them
on the background with foam pads.
I had a tricky time taking the photo today. Would you believe it's too sunny!!
I thought I'd got rid of most of the shadows, but the bottom of the card seems to have taken on
a yellowy tint.
IRL it's definitely white.
Supplies.

NINJA BABY
Hello
Today I'm sharing a sweet and simple card with you
for the MUSE challenge.
I took my inspiration from Jenni Murray's sweet and pretty muse card -
going with the baby girl theme, the pink dp and the CAS style.
As usual, I had no similar stamps, so I opted for a ninja :-)

EASTER BAND
Hello.
Today I'm sharing a card for this week's MUSE challenge.
As soon as I saw Tracey's pretty card I knew I wanted to recreate that stripey, pastel paper with my inks.
So that's where I started.
(This was my second attempt. I learnt that you can't really use yellow - you end up with a muddy, greeny blend on either side.)
After that I was a bit stumped. I don't really send Easter cards so I had no basket, egg, chick type stamps.
After digging around in my stash I came up with these bunnies.
Bunnies in a marching band - that's got to say Easter - right? :-)

SPINNING NINJA
Hello.
Boys like action cards - FACT.
So only a spinner card would do for my dd's boyfriend :-)
I started with my favourite background of blended inks and water splashes.
Then, I used a black fineliner along an oval die, to draw my 'tightrope'.
I die cut a hill, with the slider part in the middle and popped this up on foam pads.
Finally, I added my tiny ninjas, gold numbers, and sentiment to complete the scene.
Supplies.

FLOATING FLORALS
Hello.
I've been struggling to find time to craft this week,
but when I saw Anita's gorgeous card at MUSE, I really wanted to play along.
This was a quick make for me. I stamped my florals onto my die cut,
heat embossed them, and then used distress inks to blend a background.
I attached a 'happy' sentiment in black card and popped up the 'birthday' on foam pads.

The inspiration I took from Anita's card was from the embossing,
the pink and orange colour combo, and the added splash of black.
I'm not sure what happened with my embossing.
I used a clear embossing powder to try and get a more subtle effect,
but it came out white!!
Maybe that's just the powder I'm using. or is it the Versamark??!!
