PARTY PUPS

Hello.
Today I'm playing along at the Muse Card Challenge.
This week, they're celebrating Ardyth's birthday and you can choose any of her
fabulous cards as your Muse.

If you check out Ardyth's blog - MASKerade - there's a really nifty link to browse through her cards.
(I definitely need to learn how to add that to my blog ).

Anyhoo - I needed a one layer card to send overseas, so her cute 'go bananas' creation was perfect for me to CASE.

I switched out Ardyth's monkeys for my pups and pretty much copied everything else ;-)
Thanks so much for the inspiration, Ardyth  xxx

PAWS AND ENJOY

Hello.
I'm still having fun playing with these cute pups,
and today I've made a card, following the sketch, over at MFT Card Challenges.

My pups are coloured with Copics and popped up on foam pads to add some dimension.
See that middle pup - he's my favourite. I've called him Murphy :-)
You all name your stamp animals too, right ?? :-)

DRINK MORE GIN

Hello.
I've had another rummage through my old stamps today,
and I came up with this cute, house mouse one.
I've matched it up with a fun sentiment to try and bring it more up to date.
What do you think?

RUFF DAY

Hello.
I don't know about a ruff day, it's rather been a ruff week here,
so I was drawn to this sentiment and teamed it up with some bright, coloured pups.
I rather like them.

Not to self: be more daring with colour :-)

Challenges.

I've used Copic markers on my pups - with no shading -
just bold colour and a touch of white pen.

ALL SQUARE

Hello
Have you visited the Seven Hills Craft Blog?
They have a fabulous design team and post a new card every day - lots of lovely inspration.
When I saw Gemma's card - here - I knew I had to attempt a version of it.

I inked up my squares (don't look too closely, I don't have a square die so they're not perfect) -
and attached my doggy die-cuts with foam tape and snipped off anything hanging over the square.
I did some minimal colouring on the dogs and then attached the squares to my base card with foam tape.
A simple idea, but I think it's really effective and would work with lots of different stamps and colour combos.

MUM'S BOUQUET

Hello
I still struggle with flower cards - which colours to use, how to arrange them -
so I made an extra special effort with this card for my Mum's birthday.
She suffers from mixed dementia and I'm finding looking after her really hard right now,
but hopefully this will make her smile.

This is my 2nd entry for the challenge at Seven Hills Crafts,
this time using the colour combo on the right.

I picked out the lilac, pink and a couple of shades of green,
layering the blooms and leaves with foam tape for lots of dimension.

Yappy Birthday

Hello,
I am such a sucker for doggy stamps,
so I couldn't resist this set of four-legged friends.
Here's one of them... getting his first outing.

  • Die-cut scalloped edge panel
  • Draw fine line to 'ground' the trees
  • Stamp and die-cut trees, and attach with foam pads
  • Stamp and die-cut dog. Colour with Copics and white pen. Attach with foam pads
  • Stamp sentiment
  • Attach with foam pads to base card that has been covered in spotty dp.
Challenges

Muse Card Club - design from Tracey McNeely

I took Tracey's overall design as my inspiration, and treated it like a sketch.
I used dp down the side of the card, a central image, and a simple sentiment.

Colour Challenge

I used the first colour palette - picking out the orange, yellow and green
and using those colours for my trees.

EAT MORE CAKE

Hello.
I admit, I love using cute little stamps with matching dies,
and I rather neglect my old stash.
Having a rummage the other day though, I came across this wooden stamp
- one of my all time favourites.

I enjoyed colouring it, and I tried my best to give it a more 3D look -
going around the edges in grey.
And, I think adding a fun sentiment has brought it more up-to-date.
Guess I need to check out and see what other goodies are lurking in my old stash box.

RAMBLIN' ROSE

Hello.
Is anyone else struggling to find time to craft?
With the weather being so nice here, I have been spending more time in the garden -
drinking tea and reading books in the sun, whilst trying to ignore the weeds ;-)

Anita's beautiful Muse card has been in my head though,
and I finally came up with this card yesterday.

I don't have any stencils, so for my image, I used rose and leaf stamps,
stamped with versamark and heat embossed in white.
Then I used my distress inks over the top for the background, added a sentiment and a few scattered sequins.

It seems so simple, I don't know why it took me a week to come up with it ;-)

Hogs & Kisses

Hello.
Today I'm sharing the card I made for my dh's birthday.
This year I went with simple, but cute :-)
A bit like him! Ha ha!

I began by covering my card base with the heart print dp.
I took my scalloped edge rectangle and die cut the pig into it, then stamped through this space, directly onto the heart dp.
Then I popped up the rectangle on foam pads for some depth, and added my die cut letters.
The rest of the sentiment was added on a little scrap of card,
I really didn't trust myself not to mess it up if I stamped directly onto the card.
Finally, I added the little bow tie, a paper-pieced belly for the 'o',  and a few sequins.
