Hello.
I love alphabet stamps and dies, and adding words and sentiments to my cards.
So I was excited to get my hands on this alphabet stamp set.
It turned out to be a little larger than I expected,
but I think it's going to be used a lot :-)

I started with a white card panel and added my stripes using an Altenew  stencil with spiced marmalade Distress Ink.
Then I held my breath as I stamped the individual letters for my sentiment.
Some of them came out a little patchy, so I just filled them in with a fine black marker.
I definitely need to get my hands on one of those stamping platforms.

Then I mounted my panel onto black card, with foam tape and attached it to my base card.

Here I am with my second card as Guest Designer for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Here's my card for this week's challenge,

FOR A CHILD

This week Neat & Tangled goodies are being showcased.
You don't have to use them to enter the challenge,
but if you have them, we would love to see them.

I asked myself  "what do kids like on cards?"
and I came up with - colour, cute animals, and their name.
I threw in some interaction, and here's my card...

I started with my usual MFT stitched scalloped rectangle die
that I inked up in distress oxide, broken china
I used MFT surf and turf dienamics to cut the slider piece from the centre of the rectangle.

This cute fox is from Altenew, hug me and I die-cut him, coloured him with Copics 
and popped him into the slider channel.
I added some clouds, so the fox looks like he's floating in the sky,
and then the name, using MFT stitched alphabet dies

HOME SWEET HOME

Hello.
I have a craving this week, and I blame Less is More  ;-)
Their challenge is 'Tropical Fruits', and seeing all those cards in tangy colours
has made me desperate for  Opal Fruits.
Remember them - before they were Starburst?
I don't know how long I can hold out.

Here's my own 'tangy' card.

I needed a New Home card and thought it would be fun to use this chair stamp with tropical colours.
I die-cut my scallop edge rectangle and then stamped the centre piece using distress inks, before re-attaching the scalloped edge.
Then I popped it up with foam tape onto my card base and added the embossed sentiment.
Very quick and simple.

Hello.
Today, I'm back in my comfort zone,
playing with these cute pups from MFT.

I die-cut my panel and stamped it with the different pups.
Then I coloured them with Copics and added a little, white gel pen.
If anyone can recommend a good gel pen I can get here in the UK that would be great. The ones that I buy never seem to quite work properly.
The sentiment was embossed in white onto a strip of black card and popped up with foam tape.
I love this design. It's a nice clean and simple one, that works for a lot of different stamps.

Hello.
Eek, I'm excited.
For the whole month of August I will be Guest Designer for the
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

We have some fun challenges lined up for you, so I hope you'll play along,

Here's my card for this week's challenge,

SPLATTER IT

This week SSS are showcasing Ranger inks, so I've used them to
water colour my blooms.
My first EVER attempt at water colouring flowers !!

I embossed my Wplus9 modern anemones in white, die-cut them, and then used distress inks to water colour them.

I'm not really sure how most people do this, but I smudged some ink from the pad, 

onto an acrylic block,  added a little water, and picked it up from there with my paint brush.

It's kind of addictive, isn't it?

I popped the blooms and leaves up with foam tape, onto a stitched scalloped rectangle die from MFT, 

that I splattered with the same distress ink.

(I think I could be a bit bolder with my splatter)  :-)

Finally, I added a labeled message from Mama Elephant.

Hello.
I LOVE designer papers - don't you?
But, I rarely use mine anymore.
They are confined to a big, plastic tub underneath my crafting table.
I thought this die might encourage me to use some of them,
so here's it's first outing.

This was a super quick card, and I really like how it turned out.
I could have cut the letters individually, but that takes forever, and I always
end up with mine going wonky somewhere,
so this die, that cuts them all at the same time, is perfect.

The die-cut panel is popped up with foam tape and I added the sequins in last,
to make it look a little like a shaker card.

What did we do before distress ink?  ;-)

Here I've tried blending some colours together to give a more masculine feel,
but without resorting to blue!

I attached some Stick It to black card before die-cutting my letters, to make them easier to attach to my background.
Then I simply stamped a sentiment and popped it up with foam tape.

Hope everyone is well.
I am fighting off a summer cold, so my brain is on a go slow at the moment.
I still managed to make it into my craft room though ;-)

Here's my card for this week's Muse challenge.
I found that distress oxide inks really stamp beautifully.

I love Marcie's fabulous inky muse card - such vibrant colours showing through the black.
Am I the only one that can see a couple of skulls in there ???
Just above the ll's and just below the 'o'
Or is that my cold meds kicking in.. ha ha.

Here's the card I made for her...

I made the sentiment up with some alphabet stamps, and embossed it in white.
Then I set to with my distress inks to make a 'galaxy' type background.
I love the way those water splatters look like so much space debris ;-)

I RUFF YOU

Hello.
It's my wedding anniversary today.
32 years.
(obviously I was VERY young when we got married)    :0)

Here's the card I made for my hubby.
Love him to bits.

Over the years I've done all the usual hearts and flowers, and sentimental cards, but this time I went for something more simple, with a cute twist.

I masked off my inside panel with tape, and used distress ink to make the stripes.
I LOVE this iced spruce colour.

 I added my doggy and some plants, popped them up on foam pads on a couple of die cut rectangles.
One of the rectangles is cut in gold metallic card, which has a lovely glossy shimmer, and to complement it, I scattered a few gold sequins.

Hello.
There are advantages to hubby working weekends - I get to play in my craft room all day :-)
Here's a card I made this morning.

I used my Copics to colour these die-cut anemones and leaves, and then arranged them on my panel.
It's hard to see in the photo, but some blooms are stuck on flat, and some are popped up with foam pads, so the card has a nice 3D look IRL.
Finally, I stamped the sentiment,
I love these scripty sentiments from Simon Says Stamp - I think they look really pretty with flowers.
