Stitching Galore

Hooray... something I can do!
Simon Says
wants you to 'Stitch It Up' this week.
I always machine stitch my cards,
but you can also hand sew, or fake it and use a pen.
There's a great set of DT work on the blog,
for you to look at, to give you some inspiration.

If you haven't used your sewing machine on card,
give it a go.
It's very easy and I didn't have to alter any tensions or
anything on my machine.
Just practice on a piece of card first.
I use either a straight stitch or a zig-zag,
as I find the fancy stitches on my machine don't really work very well.
A good tip is to always use white cotton on your bobbin
and just change your spool colour.
The white shouldn't show through.

Recipe:
Stamp - Stamposaurus, Lazy Ellie
coloured with copics.
Design Paper - My Mind's Eye, Bloom & Grow
Card candy and sentiment from Craftwork Cards.

You know what Caroline, I can't sew for Toffee!!!! But I am seriously considering getting a sewing machine for my card making and then hopefully my confdence will grow and I'll be able to repair & shorten clothes etc.

I always used to get my mum to do this, but sadly she passed away last December, so I'm having to be more self-suffcient - she would probably despair at my efforts, but I will do it and make her proud!!

Great card by the way - I'm so busy going on about sewing I nearly forget to say LOL !!!

Have a great weekend.

Fabulous card Caroline :-) I am quite handy with a machine so have no excuse for faking it on my creation :-( I should have dusted the cobwebs off it eh !! ;-)

Oooh gorgeous card Caroline! I love all your sewing - I don't have a sewing machine and love the effect of sewing on cards so have to hand stitch all mine and it takes AGES! Guess what's on my wish list for Christmas...!

A lovely card, I'm very impressed with how neat your stitching is on the circle. I don't have room to keep my sewing machine out and it most of the time I feel it's more effort than it's worth to get it out.
