Happiness Is Only A Cupcake Away

Hello.
I'm loving the new, mood board theme over at the Inkspirational Challenge.
It shows an array of images and a colour combo - plenty there to spark your imagination.
I went for this bold, bright, cupcake design.

I love this large, cupcake stamp, but it doesn't get inked up too often. If I'm honest, it's a bit intimidating to colour. I try my best, though.

I was definitely thinking more is more, for this card, and mounted the cupcake onto a pink stencilled background, then added the sentiment on foam tape.

It's very bold for me. I think it's growing on me though :-)

We're A Perfect Combo

Help!
Where does everyone buy their coloured card from in the UK.
I keep seeing beautiful cards with ombre shades of cardstock , you know the ones, where each colour has it's own name.  I'd love to be able to get some, but I can't afford the - £3.50 for 5 sheets in 60 different colours! Is there a more economical make that anyone has come across. I'd love to know.

I ditched my miss matched, card colours for this make, and went with distress ink instead.

I chose the bold distress inks of festive berries, and pickled raspberry, and was surprised how well they blended. Then I held my breath, and stamped the sentiment.
The little Pandas and their extras were stamped, die-cut and popped up with foam pads. I nearly coloured in some red on the apron and hat, but stopped myself and i think the plain black and white works well.

Happy Candle Blowing Day

Hello.
It's cold and windy out there today, so I thought I would hole up in my craft room and do my snippets 'homework'. I delved into my stash box and found some pieces of design paper that I could use with these candle dies.

I know this card looks simple, but it took me a ridiculous amount of time to finish.
Once I had cut the candles from design paper there were 2 pieces of the flame to glue on, then the white overlay, and for good measure, I added a foam layer for a bit more oomph! I hope you can see that 3D in the photo below.

Here's a picture of the design paper snippets I used.
Yay! I can't believe I remembered to take this :-)
I also managed to use snippets of white card and yellow card (for the flames).

A Truckload of Happiness

Hello.
I try to limit my 'Christmas' themed purchases, otherwise my stash would consist completely of critters in santa suits, trees, baubles, stockings, snowmen etc But, I couldn't resist this truck set (it comes with trees and presents). And I'm so glad - I can now see that it's going to be really useful for all sorts of occasions, and I'm already thinking about what other things can go in the back of that truck!

Here I've used it for a simple birthday card.

I put some strips of washy tape onto my card panel, then added my die cut truck, presents and sentiment. It does take me a while to glue these truck pieces together, but I am getting better at it.

Sweet Birthday Wishes

Happy New Year.
I finally managed to get into my craft room, and here is my first make of the year. It's for one of my favourite challenges - Color Hues - where they'd like to see light pink and gold.

I stamped my doughnuts with distress ink, kitsch flamingo, which turns out to be not as light pink as I thought. But, I've just gone with it, as lining up those stamps and dies is really tricky, and I didn't want to start over!

The sentiment has a die and shadow die  - so I cut it with vellum, and gold card and then popped it up with foam pads. I'll definitely be looking for more of these 'double' dies this year. I just love the look of them. If you're sneaky about where you add the foam pads, they hardly show through on the front.
