You're Old... But You're Still Roar-Some

Hello.
Today I'm saying Happy Birthday to my dh, who turns 60 today!!
That's old!  Obviously, I'm a lot younger than him 😉

I thought it would be fun to create a little dinosaur scene, and I made the sentiment up with some tiny alphabet stamps.
'You're so old...  and inside it says 'but you're still roar-some' :o)

Welcome Little one

Hello.
What a joy it was last week to welcome our gorgeous, new grandson.
After a few days in the neonatal unit, both mum and baby were released home and are doing well.

I used this cute, giraffe die for their card  - keeping it very simple and opting for soft colours with that little bit of baby boy, blue for the background.

Reading Is My Favourite Sport

Hello. Are you a reader? I love books, but I don't have the physical space for them anymore, so I treated myself to a Paperwhite. I love it! It goes everywhere with me, and is perfect for reading outside, even on sunny days.
So, this image called to me - books and coffee - what could be better?

It's the dreaded one layer challenge at Less Is More this fortnight - and they'd like to see an off centre image. I did a little bit of easy masking with some post-it notes, and held my breath as I stamped right onto the card base! I'm amazed! Not a smudge, or random blob of ink anywhere :o)

I coloured the images with copics and added some glossy accents to the glasses.

Have A Dino-mite Birthday

Hello.
I'm having some fun with colour again today, and going  for the bold, bright shades of pink, orange and green from the Color Throwdown Challenge

This Birthday stamp had been a bit neglected because I found it tricky to line up and get a good image. Now though, I have a stamping platform that makes the job much easier. It's so nice to be able to stamp over in the same place for a crisper image.

My camera skills (such as they are) escaped me today - and everything looks a bit flat - all the elements are die cut and popped up with foam tape though, so it has some dimension.

And That's A Wrap

Hello.
Today I'm sharing a simple snippets card with you, that I made for my eldest daughter.
She completed her PhD, in cardiac physiology, a while ago, but the ceremonies were cancelled, due to COVID.
A couple of weeks ago she finally got to wear the floppy hat ! :-)

Alphabet dies are great for using up even the smallest snippets of card.
Here, I layered a few pieces together, and coloured the top layer with my ecoline brush pens (great pens if you want a bold, vibrant colour).
Getting the letters in a perfect line is always tricky, so I didn't even attempt it here - and I like the more relaxed result.

Have A Roar-Some Birthday

Hello.
Hope you've all had a lovely Easter. The weather here in Yorkshire has been gorgeous, and yesterday we enjoyed a stroll in Roundhay Park. Today I am enjoying some bank holiday peace and quiet, and absorbed myself in some copic colouring.

These cute dinosaurs are my latest purchase -  I thought they would be great for all the little boy cards I am going to need. Here, I have just stamped them straight onto a card panel and coloured them with purple and green copics.

Life Is Better With A Dog

Hello
I thought I'd nailed my last entry for the Less Is More Challenge (the pink and gold car, below) but now I realise it had too many layers to be truly CAS - so I'm trying again this week.

The 'occupation' theme threw me a bit - but then I saw this stamp set and thought of dog walker. That has to be one of the coolest jobs ever!
I could picture this guy in the park with his dogs, blue skies with fluffy clouds, little trees and green grass, a few balls scattered about.... hold it right there! This is a CAS card.
So, I kept my background simple with a bold, clean swipe of distress ink. Then the 'dog walker' and pup were die-cut and added with foam pads.
Hopefully I nailed the CAS theme this week.

Zoom, Zoom, Zoom

Hello.
Today I'm scootin' by with a cute birthday card.

I wanted something bright and fun, for my niece, so I went with a rainbow of colours for the letters, and a couple of critters, scooting along in the grass. They've got  presents with them and they're on their way to the party!

For some extra dimension the letters were also cut from a foam sheet, and the critters are popped up with foam tape.

I've Got a Fast Car

Hello.
I'm tootling by today, to share my card for the Less is More Challenge, where they would like to see a pink and gold combo.

I opted for a really pale, pink shade for my die-cut car, which was popped up with foam tape. The little present stack on top was die-cut out of pink card and then paper pieced with gold glitter, and metallic pieces. My 'bundle of baby clothes' dies were still out on my desk from my last card, so I used them for the star and bow, and the 'washing line' for the little strips.

The Laundry is About to Get Super Cute

Hello.
I heard of another baby on the way this week, so it was lovely to get out this cute, baby clothes die set, and a handful of design paper snippets.

This design paper was a favourite of mine years ago (I don't use my papers too often now), but this is about the last of it, and I was lucky to still have some pieces where I could cut those cute animals out.

Hope that Dudley is recovering from his unscheduled hair cut!
